Twisted Acres
It was hysterical... I always got a kick out of how she was 20+ years younger than the character she played. Rest in peace, Sophia.
embiggen
oh there are fans here alright...
Lammycat
I always thought they should have done an episode where the Girls go to Vegas and crazy stuff happens to them and a lot of dry, derogatory quips fly from Sophia's mouth. "The Golden Girls Do Vegas," like maybe a 1-hour special or something.
Twisted Acres
My wife just e-mailed me her favorite Golden Girls line: Blanche: My life is an open book.Sophia: Your life is an open blouse.

Mrs. Peel
I am a huge Golden Girls fan. RIP Sophia. Anyone remember the Golden Palace spinoff? It had everyone but Bea Arthur, and costarred Don Cheadle!

poppydawn
I still love that show and I'm not ashamed to admit I watch a few episodes every week on Lifetime. I'd read somewhere that Estelle suffered from dementia during the last few years. I'm glad she's not suffering anymore. I remember Golden Palace! A few years ago Lifetime showed the pilot episode of it in the middle of the night when I happened to be awake. Pure cheesy bliss! Cheech was in it, too.
yermom
I loved it when I was a kid. RIP, funny lady.

A friend of mine in TX and I watch it over the phone together. It's sooo great!!! Sophia was the BEST!!! Estelle will be missed...
watch me fall
My sister in law's father died of the same thing...lewy body dementia. It was heartbreaking to watch him suffer with it. My heart goes out to her family. She was one funny lady.
