A-man, please :wub don't take offense that I started a new thread, but that last one was from Oct 2006, and was titled "New Lindsey Buckingham" ... and so I spent quite a bit of time reading it and getting more and more confused, until I realized it was all about "Under The Skin" from 2 years ago.

So, IMO 2 years later a new thread for the new release is warranted. If anyone wants to read the old thread about the old 2006 release, it is here.

New 2008 release is called "Gift of Screws".

Gift of Screws Track List:

1. Great Day

2. Time Precious Time

3. Did You Miss Me

4. Wait For You

5. Love Runs Deeper

6. Bel Air Rain

7. The Right Place To Fade

8. Gift Of Screws

9. Underground

10. Treason

At http://www.lindseybuckingham.com/ you can hear one song ... Did You Miss Me?"

Mister. I am the Pope, this might be your church, right now I'm the Pope of Greenwich Village 'cause I got the tape alright?

I just do what I do - you do what you do - that is why you are the man.

That is one of my favorite videos.

It is cool. I confess, though - I had never seen it before tonight. Which is sorta surprising since I love TP, but I did quit watching MTV at some point in time (obviously before that was making the rounds).

You know my philosophy - if a thread is not yet in the archives, then it is still good to go. Why are threads from 2006 not yet in the archives I wonder.

You'll have to ask the real man. ;)

So ... I have something called Gift of Screws that I downloaded two years ago, and I believe it was portrayed as the Great Unreleased Lindsey Buckingham Album. Is this soon-to-be-released album all new material?

The version I have seems to share only one track in common with the one discussed here -- the title track. Here's the tracklist for the thing I have:

1. Someone

I got this a few years ago and was wondering the same thing. I must admit the version I have didn't sound like any great unreleased Lindsey record. I really should pull it out again and see if my opinion has changed.

Thanks, A-Man, I added that info to the list.

"Under The Skin," had two cover songs as well - the Donovan song noted above, and "I Am Waiting" from Rolling Stones Aftermath. Obviously a Stones fan.

Yes, I have the old internet version of "Gift of Screws" too. And was surprised to see the new tracklist mostly devoid of the remaining unreleased songs from the old "Gift of Screws." I mean, ever since I heard the title of his new CD was going to be "Gift of Screws" I've been expecting it to sort of close a chapter on that older material. Oh well. Unless he has renamed some of them.

So yeah. This new one should leak already. :thumbup

I listened to Out of the Cradle for the first time in a long while, and damn. :wub

I got to catch Lindsey last night at the Orpheum in Phoenix. I saw him on his two Phoenix stops on the Under the Skin tour and this was another great show. I can't remember the set list in order, but he played about half of the new album (great day, time precious time, did you miss me, love runs deeper, gift of screws, treason), a few songs from under the skin (title track and shut us down - done solo acoustic which was one of the show highlights), and the expected Fleetwood Mac songs (tusk, I know I'm not wrong, second hand news, never going back again, go your own way, big love, I'm so afraid). He also did Trouble and Go Insane (no longer solo acoustic - tighter version with band, this was a nice re-reworking). Personal highlight for me was Don't Look Down in the encores - a shame he only played one song from Out of the Cradle.

Great show but I'd love for him to really shake up the setlist sometime, mixing in a buckingham-nicks song would be a start, or digging a little deeper on Tusk (e.g. the ledge), or more from out of the cradle. I'll still catch him everytime he comes through.

Mike
