Hasn't the idea of peak oil been debunked? There's still plenty of oil in the ground, it's just going to be harder to extract from rock and tar sands than simply sticking a straw in the ground. Besides, oil is so 20th Century -- time to evolve.

Regarding the Republic's favored method of campaigning -- smearing vs. substance. I have an idea that Democrats are just more respectful of others in general, and not prone to stoop to that level; Republicans seem to take the approach in politicking and governing that the end justify the means, regardless. I'm hoping Biden is less reluctant to call the Republicans out on their shabby (I mean criminal) record.

Though I respect your opinion, I'm not convinced McCain's fortune has any bearing on his ability to act as president. It could be argued that personal success is a positive attribute, as I suspect there are few of us who would vote for a life-long loser, well, with the exception of Bush. Further, I don't recall democrats being overly concerned with or raising objections to Teresa Heinz Kerry's fortune.

I don't think McCain and Cindy's $$ is from working hard and having personal success. It's family connections and such. It does matter how much $ is in his pockets and where it comes from. He wants power, not positive change for this country.

Teresa Heinz Kerry's fortune is between $750 million and $1.2 billion. WoW! Although she has some amazing stuff on her resume, her ketchup has a butt-load of high fructose corn syrup in it that is killing our kids. Kerry still needs to be punched.I want my $5 back I donated.

Not at all. In fact, given that it is, essentially, a non-renewable resource, it

My aoplogies... I was under the impression that this was the place for thoughtful political discourse. :lol

My apologies I will try to be as boring as possible from now on. Republicans Who Happen to Not Exercise Good Judgement.

And her accent ain't American either. She and Longface looked pretty uncomfortable together last night during their DNC interview.

It's not just their net worth, it's what they came from. McCain's family seems to have opened doors to the military...and kept them open. Cindy was born rich. McCain married the money. His oil lobby booty is much greater than Barry's. Shit, no, potential US presidential candidate is going to free of lobby money, but perhaps we can differentiate to the extent they accept it and how their stance is affected.

Michelle told the Obama's story last night. She may have lied since she didn't mention anything Muslim terrorist, not born from America, racist idealogy. It seemed compelling, inspirational.

This is 100% correct.

In particular, leftist interest groups and bloggers who work on behalf of Democrats, such as moveon, dailykos and huffingtonpost have proven it time & time again.

Ya, people should stay the hell out of your biz when you tell them you feel your fit to be prez. Your past says nothing about who you are. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing.

Your so misunderstood McCain.

Looking into his past is different than saying he doesn't love his wife.

I'm not even gonna touch that one. Look what he did to his 1st wife. He's a man of true love till death do us part..unless you get ugly and I see $.

Do you know them? Have you talked to them both about their marriage and the dissolution of it? No?

Then you are talking out of your fucking ass.

This is why politics makes me frustrated. There's no fucking line.

I made up all the dirt on McCain.Yep me.

See ya..you only like to hit the end of a discussion, quote FHF once or twice to make him look like a jerk, and then your out. I would say todays discussion has involved more than this. I'm not going to rehash the marriage thing again with you.If you think McCain lovingly left his 1st wife and it's none of our biz, then that's ok.Stick with it.

Oh, and it's really RUDE to say I am talking out of my fucking ass. Who talks like that?I don't do that ignorant crap to you. Please don't cuss @ me again.

How did you dwindle all FHF said down to that little line taken out of context? You'd make a hell of a speech or political ad writer.

He didn't really say much, but if you really want me to...

Why is coming from the military an inherently bad thing?

And why should Barrack be given a free pass about lobbying money? Because you happen to agree with his politics? Or because you think he'll do better things with the lobby money? Then what you are saying is you only care about lobbyists if Republicans are involved.

Michelle told the Obama's story last night. She may have lied since she didn't mention anything Muslim terrorist, not born from America, racist idealogy. It seemed compelling, inspirational.

Well, Obama obviously loves his wife way more than McCain does, that's for damn sure. If you are worth 2 million dollars, you love your wife. But not 140. That's where the line is drawn.

Absolutely the same thing, and I like to think that I've personally never done that.

I made up all the dirt on McCain.Yep me.

I'm just saying that it's completely unfair to judge two people's marriage that you've never even met. I'd say you are absolutely talking out of your ass on that issue, or at the very best, you are just regurgitating the same old crap we've all heard.

Either way, it seems like if democrats are going to complain about smear tactics, maybe they should practice what they preach. There has to be a line, and making a judgment call like that about two people who have chosen to spend their lives together and who you have never even met is bullshit.

Has McCain ever come out and said he married her and has stayed with her for 30 years because of money? Or has he said that he left his first wife when she gained weight? People get divorced. It doesn't make him an awful person.

You know what, I'll agree it's rude. But I'm not judging you as a person or questioning the love you feel for the people around you, so at worst, I'm coming in 2nd or 3rd in rudeness here.
