gogo
I just love Anne Hathaway and I'm sure Julie Andrews was laughing her ass off at that skit. She was the grandmother in The Princess Diaries! I love Carol Burnett, and I've always loved reading about her friendship with Julie Andrews. Apparently Julie Andrews has a very "bawdy" sense of humor, and Carol Burnett is much more straight-laced. I love that their true personalities are the opposite of what you would expect, considering their on-screen personas. So yeah, I'd say Julie Andrews probably got a kick out of that one. I just watched Annie today and as "bawdy" as Carol is in that movie, I can't imagine her being anything but in real life.
watch me fall
It was actually a pretty solid show last night. Good Palin/Biden skit, I thought Anne Hathaway did a great job as host, but this bit slayed me ...... http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/vid...animals/727504/Glad I waited until I got home to watch this. Funny shit. Reminded me of Brian Fellows. Talk to you later, donkey.
Guest Jules
So my wife at my urging watched the animal skit at two in the morning while feeding the baby and she told me today that it wasn't that funny and I asked if it was maybe because she watched it in the middle of the night while half asleep and she said yeah that's a good point so we're going to watch it together tonight that's the end of my story I will keep you informed. I didn't get it. I giggled a little at the chicken part because of the expression (do chickens have expressions?) the chicken made, but other than that...

I thought it was mildly funny from an absurd standpoint but, like Austrya, I didn't get it (if there was something to get). Andy Samberg didn't exactly nail the Marky Mark impersonation either. Mrs. Peel
I think the reason I found it so funny was because it was absurd and random. Samberg's mediocre impression only made me laugh harder.
austrya
I had Jay watch it to see if he thought it was funny and he cracked up. Actually, it was a lot funnier the second time around.
