So Long
Welcome. haha. When I went up to Montreal last season, everyone was so cocky...and one guy actually picked a fight with me (funny story actually, I found myself in a hockey style street fight in the middle of the cross walk for about 10 seconds before my friend acted as the voice of reason...) This year, not a problem, everyone was nice to me even though I was in full Bruins attire. Beautiful city, shitty team. Ole.
quarter23cd
I'm starting to believe. If I were talking about any other team I'd say they were a lock for the playoffs, but I'm talking about the mighty BJ's here. Just finally making the playoffs would do wonders for hockey in this town... Go Jackets!!!

This year, not a problem, everyone was nice to me even though I was in full Bruins attire. Beautiful city, shitty team. Ole. Listen, I know there are some definite jerks who cheer for the habs. For sure. But you were a Bruins fan at a Montreal game.I have been to a Habs/Bruins game in the beautiful city of Boston. (Now, I am an extremely polite person and am pretty low key). And the fans around me, were EXTREMELY hostile. I had one guy body check me in the rest room, which probably would have escalated had there not been 4 drunk guys urging him to kick my ass. I smartly walked away. So your above comments seem absurd to me.

TCP
First in the North West! After only winning one game in January!!!!!! You guys have no idea how excited I am. Especially after last year..... When I went up to Montreal last season, everyone was so cocky...and one guy actually picked a fight with me (funny story actually, I found myself in a hockey style street fight in the middle of the cross walk for about 10 seconds before my friend acted as the voice of reason...)You know you're in Canada when you're getting in street fights over hockey. I swear, every time I see some asshole with a Flames jersey who walks by me, I contemplate throwing a punch.... The worst is when I see Leaf fans in BC! Hey let's make predictions!!! And then when the playoffs start we can see how right we were. WEST1. San Jose2. Detroit3. Vancouver4. Columbus5. Calgary6. Chicago7. Anaheim8. St. Louis EAST1. Boston2. Washington3. New Jersey4. Pittsburgh5. Philadelphia 6. Carolina7. New York8. Florida Tavares: Islanders, duh. I'm pulling for Colorado though. I think he'd be a great heir to Joe Sakic. Sure, he's not from BC but no one is perfect! In Calgary today, the news paper headline wrote "The Flaming C Stands for Choke"

You should be.If you guys play Montreal, you will roll over them like nobody's business. If you play Florida, you will roll over them like nobody's business. If yuo play New York, you will roll over them like nobody's business. Pittsburgh5. Philadelphia 6. Carolina7. New York8. FloridaI think my East prediction would be the same as yours, but in the West? Columbus is 5 points behind Chicago with 5 games remaining, and Chicago has a game in hand, and you think Columbus will overtake them? (AND Calgary?) You're nuts. I don't think St. Louis will bump Nashville, not with 4 out their 5 remaining games on the road... my picks WEST1. San Jose2. Detroit3. Vancouver4. Calgary5. Chicago6. Columbus7. Anaheim8. I based that just on the fact that the BJs are a lot hotter then both Calgary and Chicago but now it'll probably be a lot harder for them to pull through. I edited didn't edit because you're probably right. Actually, Anaheim is pretty hot right now, I could see them moving to 6th as well. Grr... it's all so tight right now. They're back to normal. Now I just have to hope Mason and Nash can pull together a whole lot of wins and the Hawks and Flames continue their choking ways.

TCP
I feel really bad for Taylor Pyatt right now. That's horrible. The Canucks organization has experienced too much tragedy in recent years...Ugh I know, I can't think of anything worse happening to a young guy like Pyatt. If anything, hopefully this can rally the guys and they can go all the way for both Pyatt and Carly. Aeglos
Ya, very sad, especially so soon after Eric Bourdon. On a brighter note, St Louis' run has been incredible. There's an amazing spirit about their team, to battle so hard for the playoffs after being so low in the standings in December (reminds a bit of Washington last year) and with so many injuries to key players. TCP
Just one of those things that make you appreciate the time we have. Anyways, who is growing a playoff beard? Now that the Canucks have clinched I have started mine, it's not the best looking beard in the world, I blame my slightly Native ancestry for that but it's not going to stop me. TCP
Looks like CBJ may be up against the Red Wings in round one.... I really think a team like the Blue Jackets would match up well against the Wings, especially with Osgood playing the way he has lately.

As a Wings fan, I'd rather play the Blackhawks or Calgary rather than STL, CBJ or the Ducks.

Jeeze anyone see Sidney Crosby today? What a little cry baby.
bobbob1313
Yeah, I agree, I'd rather see my Canucks go against the Hawks or Flames too. Jeeze anyone see Sidney Crosby today? What a little cry baby. God, Crosby's such a little bitch when it comes to fights. That's the 2nd time he's fought the Panthers. What is that, the 3rd fight of the season for him? I usually don't hate on him, but god he shouldn't be fighting.
TCP
I think Crosby wasn't ready to be captain and that's why he's being so "whiney" and "bitchy", he's doing his best to be a leader but he just doesn't know how yet. Maybe Bill Guerin can teach him a thing or two. Anyways, teams are signing a lot of NCAA players this season, due to changes in the CBA (something about players becoming UFAs at a younger age now?). As a Western Canadian the NCAA is kind of a mystery to me. Do any of you yanks know about Eric Walsky, Evan Oberg, or Matt Gilroy? The Canucks signed Walksy, are apparently going to sign Oberg, and are in the sweepstakes for Gilroy.

TCP
HORAY! THE CANUCKS CLINCHED THE NORTH WEST! 13 points back from the top in January, and today they beat the Avs to win the North West. Let's take this opportunity to read our predictions from the start of the season and remark.I was just reading the first page and looking at some of the predictions... I thought for sure this would be the year for Phoenix to turn things around, maybe not. I'm surprised to see St. Louis do so well, considering I had such low expectations. Did Sean Avery ruin Dallas? Maybe. It's strange to think that, the Stanley Cup was pretty much decided last year in the Western Conference Finals between Detroit and Dallas, and this year Dallas isn't even in the playoffs. I'm calling it, while wearing my lucky Trevor Linden jersey, CANUCKS VS BOSTON FINAL.
Aeglos
will be interesting if my Blues play Vancouver in the first round... if they win tomorrow that'll be the matchup whoever they play they'll put up a good fight
