Lammycat
No, Loose Fur/Golden Smog are side projects. Soundtrack = non-album Wilco track.I'm confused. I'm close to retracting my vote, too.
mpolak21
i was just starting to get excited thinking that just the audio from the DVD was floating around somewhere. sorry to be a pest/stickler here... Actually someone did rip a lot of the audio only tracks from the DVD awhile ago and some of the tracks are floating around in various forms on the web. I'll see if I can find anything for you. --Mike

Guest Speed Racer
I'm confused. I'm close to retracting my vote, too. A side project contains one or more members of the band, and the music created is not released under the name 'Wilco.' Not, "a project Wilco does on the side," but a project band members do "on the side, when not recording as Wilco." Autumn Defense, Loose Fur, Golden Smog. A non-album track has been officially recorded-released by the band under the name Wilco, but does not appear on any of the albums.

IATTBYH (solo acoustic), I'm Always In Love (rehearsal), Kamera (alt studio take), Pieholden (pre show rehearsal), Bob Dylan's Beard (jeff on his couch solo acoustic), Be Not So Fearful (pre show)
nodep5
Thirteen? I'm actually not sure where that was released and somebody would have maybe mentioned it by now if it counted but what the hell. I've always felt that Wilco's version of Thirteen is the definitive version of this song. I like it better than Big Star's original and better that an Evan Dando live version I have. Wilco's version just takes it up a whole other notch which is for sure saying something. BTW, for my money the Outta Site/Outta Mind CD single with both Outta Sites, Thirteen and Blasting Fonda is priceless.

Bennett says afterward how he thinks that version might be better than any other.

It's on the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot demos. Also, Jay Bennett & Ed Burch do a very nice version on Bennett's "Palace at 4am".

Sir Stewart
Right on. The YHF demos are maybe my favorite Wilco stuff. Although I'm still not clear on the difference between the demos and the 'engineer' demos collections...

BigWheeledWagon
1. Not For the Season2. Tried and True 3. I'm Always in Love (live acoustic)* *the number 3 spot would have been occupied by the pre-Krautrock Spiders (not sure if it was ever demoed in this version) or Old Maid (I'm pretty sure I've only heard live versions -- I guess no demos ever got out from Being There), but I'm pretty sure neither are eligible for this list under the rules set out in the first post. Old Maid was released on the 2003 compilation, You Can Never Go Fast Enough. Totally fair game.
