Was your town blown off by Wilco? Vent here!

Yeah, Tweedy doesn't make decisions about where the band will play. High Road, without Tweedy's permission, booked them in Tuscon, Pomona and the Mountain Winery (the week after Heart played there).

Look, it'd be a cool non-album tour -- skipping Chicago and playing relatively obscure venues and all -- but Jesus, can you not understand why there's a degree of arrrogance and pretense to not bringing the show where people want to see it?

Jesus Christ, you're an idiot. Normally I wouldn't stoop to that level, but your argument has shown so very little intelligence that I feel I must.

Last I checked, every one of the shows on this tour either sold out, or came close to selling out. I'm pretty sure that means they're brining the show where people want to see it.

They'll play San Diego again. Until then, shut the fuck up and enjoy all that the band already does for it's fans.

No stop in Atlanta which i was mildly disapointed in, but i have a feeling maybe sometime next year they will make it through.

They did play athens, but it was a "school night" and I could not make it. If it was a friday or saturday i woudl have gone to that.

hopefully they will make it through on the next tour in 2010

I think they have cars now. They will never play in my hometown but who cares? Christ, I was in Indiana, over a thousand miles from home and saw them. See them where you can and enjoy. Travel makes it fun don't you think?

Absolutely it does! I've been fortunate to have Wilco play in Kansas City in both 2006 and 2007, but I've also traveled to Lincoln, NE and Tulsa, OK for Tweedy solo shows. I'm heading to Colorado tomorrow to see Wilco at Red Rocks on Friday. This is something I choose to do. I choose to save my money and make these trips. I do not gripe about Wilco's chosen tour spots. In fact, when just about any band I love goes on a tour, my wife and I obviously hope for a show in KC, but usually pick the next closest place and determine if we can make a trip happen. And that's the way it goes. Put up or shut up!

P.S. Jeff and Sue have a brand new nephew in Los Angeles that they were visiting for the first time, which is a pretty good reason to chill out in LA. How pretentious.

Screw that travel crap. I just had to drive all the way from the east side of Cincinnati to downtown Cincinnati to see a show. Why does Wilco hate my front yard, and when are they gonna get their shizz together and do a show there?

Of course the shows are sold out. The Wiltern in L.A. holds about 2,000 people. On the last tour, they played the Greek Theater, which holds about 6,000 people. Just because a show sells out does not mean Tweedy (I say Tweedy and not "the band" because Wilco is a dictatorship)and High Road have made the shows accessible to the people who want to see them.

It's great to play small, out-of-the-way venues. What is pretentious is focusing on small, out-of-the-way venues that keep the people who have supported this band from the start from being able to see them live.

You really should let this go.

Right. You post a bunch of little kid photos and then tell me to let it go. I have a legitimate bitch and a bunch of fanboys got their panties in a bunch because someone criticized Tweedy. I've explained it over and over, what's pretentious about it is focusing on tiny out-of-the-way venues at the expense of making the live show accessible to people who have supported the band from the start.

You do not have a legitimate complaint, you're just whining. You have no idea what reasons the bands picked what venues. Jeff had things to do in LA. Not only were his kids and wife there with him to visit their new nephew (as I stated above), but they had the Tonight Show, and they were also apparently doing recording with Beck in LA. Nels is based out of LA and I'm sure he was happy to hang out in his home city. And yeah, Los Angeles is the 2nd biggest city in the country, so calling it "out-of-the-way" is really making you seem sane and rational.

I'm sorry you are too lazy to drive to Los Angeles, but that is your deal, not Wilco's. I happen to personally know there is good Greyhound bus service in between LA and San Diego - I took it back and forth between the cities a couple of times to see shows, so if it is money and carbon emissions you are worried about, then there's your answer.

wow, this is ridiculous. this band tours all OVER the place and they tour nearly non-stop. No one should be complaining. Geez. Maybe if you live in the Florida Keys or something, you can whine. But everyone else needs to zip it.

Out-of-the-way venues, not out-of-the-way cities. You're having a problem with reading comprehension. "Venue" is not synonymous with "city." It's obvious this tour has a focus on playing out-of-the-way venues.

They played three nights in LA at a relatively small venue and one in Pomona at an even smaller venue. If hanging out with the nephew and recording with Beck is so important, the obvious solution is to save time by playing one night at the Greek Theater. Plenty of time for relatives, the Tonight Show, recording with Beck and maybe, if it mattered on this tour, actually bringing the show to San Diego. Wait a minute, I thought all the people hating me here were saying High Road made all the decisions about where Wilco plays ...

And, please, ride the effing Greyhound? Some people don't have time for that crap.

So now you're telling Jeff how much time he should spend with his family?

Wilco came to San Diego for the Sky Blue Sky tour. Did you sell out that show?

Since they did not stop in San Diego on the Summer Tour 2009, now you need to wait for Fall Tour 2009 to be announced.

Or Winter Tour 2010.

Or Spring Tour 2010.

Or Summer Tour 2010.

Or Fall Tour 2010.

Of Winter Tour 2011. Etcetera.

While you patiently wait for your city's name to turn up on a future Wilco tour roster, I highly recommend Alejandro Escovedo at The Anthology on Tues. July 14th. One of the greats.

If your real, in-person self is anywhere near as petulant as your anonymous online persona, you must get punched in the face a lot.

Wendy raises the most important point here. Wilco's pass through southern California will not be their last while touring on this album. Have some goddamned patience.
