j_web18
This had been rumored by the Riverfront Times, but the Post Dispatch now makes it official: http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/the-blender/the-blender/2009/07/farm-aid-2009-wilco-jason-mraz-added-to-verizon-show/ Couple this with the e-mail this morning stating "Stay tuned to Wilcoworld this week for more Fall show announcements", and it sounds like the Mid-west is getting some more shows in 2009. Here is hoping to a Saturday night show in STL!!!!!!!
fobstl
I was hoping they would be added to Farm Aid. Saw them at Farm Aid '98 which was fun. Unfortunately Farm Aid probably means we won't get a full show in STL this fall. I would be happy with a Columbia, MO show though.

Will be recording Wilco but hope someone is also capturing the video feed on Directv and audio on XM and Sirus. Should be fun.

JHamm
I can't seem to record the streaming video at all, so I'd really love to get a copy from someone. If anyone can record this for me, PM me and give me a heads up. I'd be happy to trade for it.

Wendy
After Impossible Germany, Jeff says: "We're Wilco. We're here for the party, too." ... and then segues into Hate It Here by saying, "Don't take this personally."

AndyB
I tuned in during Hate It Here. What else did they play besides Bull Black Nova and Impossible Germany?
bjorn_skurj
That's it. "Not everybody who grows up here is a redneck." Good "Casino Queen."
Wendy
That's it. "Not everybody who grows up here is a redneck." Good "Casino Queen.""In all due respect to Gretchen Wilson, who here is NOT a redneck?" I loved that he called her out on her overdone redneck pride. She was sort of annoying, although I'm sure that redneck business is just her gimmick. Now Hoodoo Voodoo! Yay!
slice_oftheday
that was neat, enjoyed it
Kalle
I thought it was pretty badass to come out with Nova after Gretchen whateverthefuck, but then proceeded to play every joke song the band has (besides WTS). Oh well, they were tight but just a lame song selection IMO.
barbkm
Basking in the afterglow of that too short performance, I've a few observations:Kick ass cow bell maneuvers by MikelThey looked like they were having a blastI don't know if it's my computer screen, but Jeff looks a little heavier from Wappingers Falls. If so, I'm glad that we both put on some weight since that night, makes me feel closer to him and much closer to Wendy's -- obviouslyGod I wanna see go to a Wilco show, god I wanna go to a Wilco show, god I wanna go see a Wilco show. I'm so jealous of you folks who'll be seeing them in the next few weeks.Need a fix, need a fix, need a fix . . .
bjorn_skurj
Yes, that was a very nice little blast of live Wilco.
AJ673
Was able to catch it half way through Impossible Germany which, just to say, is one of my least favourite Wilco songs for some reason. Got to finally hear Hoodoo live which was awesome. For a live broadcast I thought the sound was amazing, especially the bass and drums. Really anxious to hear the impending tour announcement - I miss my Wilco!
nodep5
A couple thoughts. Overall I enjoyed the set musically, with exception of Hoodoo Voodoo which I thought they murdered (in a bad way). I was a little disappointed in Jeff making two jokes at Gretchen Wilson's expense. One, she is from the area (cut her some slack). Two, it is like making fun of tv dinners (we all know it is crap, does it have to be spoke of). Three, my mom was watching (and I can hear her say, "hey I like Gretchen Wilson") Anyway, nice to see Wilco playing in front of Jason Mraz. Thank you Neil and Willie?
