Kevan
THAT is insane! The night Wilco played Cincy in June, Prairie Home Companion was also playing just down the street. Wilco was the easy decision for me, but I was DYING to see Prairie and very disappointed I missed it. About a month ago, I made a plan with my Dad to catch a small college football game in central Minnesota on October 3rd. We were considering a Twins game that night. We might have to change that. I think Im in the twilight zone.

KevinG
Garrison Kellior drives me up an f'ing wall. His dry unfunny musings on a fiction town are more then one can handle. Plus does have to breath right into the mike like that. Good lord. Oh and I will listening to both the Wilco and Neko Case shows.

Dude
Here's Wilco first appearance on PHC - you can hear a stream of the entire episode. They played: Sky Blue Sky, Muzzle of Bees, What Light, When the Roses Bloom Again, Hesitating Beauty
Guest Speed Racer
Garrison Kellior drives me up an f'ing wall. His dry unfunny musings on a fiction town are more then one can handle. I'll second that, with emphasis! The man visits my office building for some business purpose every few months, and WILL NOT speak to anyone who addresses him in the elevator. I've never said anything to him, but christ, people will say hi or ask him about the damned weather and he pretends he's deaf as a wall. And then he had that hilarious dispute with his next door neighbors two years ago: they wanted to build an addition to their garage, he sued them because it would be "unsightly." One of the neighbors replied to the Star Tribune, "I honestly didn't think he would notice, always having his shades drawn. We've been mowing his lawn for three years and he's never said anything." solace
he teaches a comedic writing class every other year at the University of Minnesota and i used to work for the English dept 2 years ago when he last taught, he was actually pretty nice to deal with on a personal level to be perfectly honest... in fact I actually talked to him the week of Wilco's last appearance and mentioned how huge of a Wilco fan I was. He said he and the crew were all pretty excited to have them on finally.

rwilson580
Kind of repeating what someone already asked above. But it looks like I won't be anywhere near a radio when this is airing. Do they archive these for later playing anywhere? ************************** {Did some research. Looks like we can listen to old shows here: My link://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/ The last show isn't there yet, so it might take a while to get out there.}
holyshit
Garrison's heavy breathing gets pretty tiresome sometimes, and he's got a face for radio, but the man had a stroke---for real!---just a few weeks ago so we're lucky there's a PHC for Wilco to adorn this Saturday at all. Let us be thankful.
