bigshoulders
Lots of references to David Lynch but no-one seems to have mentioned 'Inland Empire'. That is one creepy movie. Its not scary but the atmosphere in that movie made me feel a real sense of anxiety and dread. I physcally felt unconfortable watching it. My wife had to leave the room and she wasn't even watching it!! Just the soundtrack and noises made her move. I've seem it a couple of times and I've still not really got a clue as to what is going on. It is a facinating film all the same. Mulholland Drive is also pretty unsettling. Sometimes being confused by a movie like recent Lynch efforts is way more scary that just watching a traditional horror flick. Have you made it through the second disc of "Inland Empire"? I haven't, and I've owned it since it came out. It is a difficult movie to wrap my brain around, that's for sure. It's a total mind-f*ck of a movie.
yermom
Gummo is wrong on so many levels. I can't eat spaghetti without thinking of that kid in the bath tub. Miike's Audition has some seriously effed moments. Pan's Labyrinth and pretty much any other movie that puts kids into messed up situations leaves me feeling creeped out too. Beltmann
Gummo is wrong on so many levels.Indeed. I hated that piece of crap. Actually, pretty much anything Harmony Korine goes near sucks (with the possible exception of Kids).
Synthesizer Patel
I saw a movie 8 years ago. I do not remember the title, but it was a Japanese film. Some guy turns into a machine, like he was infected or something. Very trippy sex scene. Weird. That's a very cool, but weird film - if that's what you saw.
anthony
I saw this at an impressionable age and it scarred me for life, I think.
keylime
This is going to sound ridiculous, but I saw Mars Attacks at a young age and it creeped the hell out of me. Aliens with giant brain like heads, exploding alien brainheads, a woman and her dog forcefully switching heads and bodies, old people set on fire...Jack Nicholson alone is enough to scare a child at times. I know it was a comedy, but dang, did it give me nightmares. To this day I get ridiculed for this fear.

Batman kinda scared me too but redeemed himself by beating up all of the bad guys. Jack Nicholson has that creepy factor with kids, for sure.
keylime
Anytime I feel like I'm still pretty young, I read a post like this that reminds me I'm not that young anymore. Haha I'm sorry, I tend to have that affect on people. Anytime I feel like I've "grown up", someone makes a reference that I don't get and I make everyone in the room feel "old" and then I'm considered a child. It's kind of a bummer for everyone involved.
sureshot
13 Tzameti Pretty disturbing. Although if you think you might want to watch it and haven't yet, I would advise not even watching the trailer or reading about the plot. It gives away too much.

sureshot
by Andrei Tarkovsky has a creepy element to it. The way its shot and the settings impart a very post-apocalyptic feel. Although theres a complete lack of any sort of "action" in the traditional sense, theres always this incredible tension lurking beneath the surface. You can almost feel the force of it. A true masterpiece, my all time favorite film. Its a spiritual experience for me when I view it...one of the few films I've cried while watching. Just be forewarned, it is talky and long (and philosophical)...not for those with ADD. But if you enter it under the correct mindset and provide it with the attention it deserves, you will be rewarded in spades. It latches onto your subconscious and never really releases that grasp. The following blurb tells you everything you need to know about the bankruptcy of the creative process in Hollywood: An American remake of the film is currently in production, but Babluani intends to "change a lot of the storyline" to avoid merely reshooting the original film. He has also indicated that he intends to shoot the remake in color (screening at the University of Notre Dame, 23 Feb 2007). The film will star Mickey Rourke, Ray Winstone, Jason Statham, Sam Riley, 50 Cent and Ray Liotta.
Synthesizer Patel
DUDE! That is totally the movie!!!! Holy shit. Very cool for finding and posting! The Island of Dr Moreau. The original. That came out when I was six. That was scary. Gave me nightmares for a long time after. i didn't need to search for it, i knew it straight away. it's a great film, very creepy stuff. also the super furry animals reference the series in the song "rings around the world" - tetsuo 2 become me and you, we're drawing rings around the world! sureshot
. Arnofsky's first film. Obviously "artsy", but the low budget and frenetic soundtrack and way out-there plot somehow all come together to make it work. And yes, it will give you a headache. This is probably a cliche choice, but is still fantastic. Paranoid brilliance.
bobfrombob
I saw The Exorcist when I was 16 and didn't sleep for about a year and a half. Dead Ringers is pretty creepy. But pretty much any movie about twin gynecologists is going to be creepy. And I only saw it once, and it was years ago, but I remember having a very uneasy feeling after seeing The Man Who Fell To Earth. No idea why. I can barely remember the film at all - just that feeling.
