Iowan
For some reason I have to think 1999 would be up there. Rap/Rock was supposed to the future of music. Teen pop ran rampant. Limp Bizkit was putting out albums produced by the guys from Korn. Woodstock '99. There was a lot of crap out that year (of course there was some excellent music released that year as well).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_in_music#Albums_released
tinnitus photography
True, but 2008 brought us Dr. Dog - Fate...... But that's about it. Honorable mention: Fleet of FoxesVampire Weekend (meh..) _Furr_ from Blitzen Trapper is a great record. Also, _4_ from Dungen. _The Hawk Is Howling_ from Mogwai. James Blackshaw's _Echoes of Litany_. Melvins' _Nude With Boots_. Baby Charles put out a fantastic soul/R&B record.
remphish1
i think 1991 wins / loses because bad music in the 70s you could listen to and not be repulsed you could laugh at how bad it was while you were singing along in the car that stuff from 1991 ... i mean, nauseating REM also released some of its best and worse all in 1991. Shiny Happy People, Country Feedback and Half a World Away all of the same album?! How is it possible!
