Weaverson
Wilco? What do you think?
Shakespeare In The Alley
I can't say I agree, but not a bad choice.
The High Heat
Best band of the 90's, too.
Muzzle of Dan
They have been my favorite band of the decade.
Robby
Yes, absolutely. The most down-to-earth, human, geniune rock band that I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.Not only do they have the talent, but actually seem to care about their music. For someone who has had to endure the years in which bands/artists gave into disco rock or stadium rock and generally sell out artistically, Wilco has been a significant breath of fresh air. Dude
I was surprised Wilco didn't make Rolling Stone's shortlist of Artists of the Decade. They were certainly more deserving than MIA, IMO. That list was: The BossMIAKanyeArcade FireRadioheadJack WhiteBeyonceU2
Guest Jules
MIA?
Gobias Industries
It's a sensible choice, but even though I love Wilco more than any other option, you'd be hard-pressed to not choose the White Stripes (or just plain old Jack White).
theashtraysays
I like how he skipped the whole "best" vs "favorite" vs "greatest" vs "most important" argument by simply skipping the adjective entirely. We should have thought of that. Brilliant, really.

Dude
I'll get back to you in 2010...the decade isn't over. How about Band of the Period of Time Where the First Three Digits of the Year is '200'?
Guest Speed Racer
I'll get back to you in 2010...the decade isn't over. By that logic, someone who was born in 1980 would be a 70's kid, which I don't think anyone would agree with. My decade is over in a week and a half.

Moss
Considering the remasters, I'm going with the Beatles.
Robby
It's a sensible choice, but even though I love Wilco more than any other option, you'd be hard-pressed to not choose the White Stripes (or just plain old Jack White). I would still stick with Wilco as the best band of the decade, but I would agree that Jack White is incredible. I just saw "It Might Get Loud" last week and White puts Jimmy Page and The Edge to shame.I could forgive Jimmy Page in that documentary as he is getting a bit long in the tooth. But the film revealed to me that The Edge is not much more than someone who relies on more on electronic manipulation of his guitar rather than his own ability. Not that I ever really cared much for U2 in the first place. If you haven't seen that doc I would highly recommend it. The best sequence is in the beginning in which Jack White literally builds a "slide guitar" in front of the camera using hardly anything more than some pieces of wood, some nails and an empty Coca-Cola bottle, hooks it up to an amp and then plays it. He probably could be accused of showing off a bit but it still was cool.
