Moss
Great night tonight. I'm moved with each emotional interview and medals ceremony...I can only imagine the emotions that these athletes are experiencing. Lindsey Vonn brought tears to my eyes and Shaun White was just absolutely incredible. Amazing stuff. Sean White just dominated, made the others look like amateurs. Saw him at a Nuggets game earlier this year and he was very cool to his fans.

caliber66
Appears to be nbcolympics.com. Clearly someone there has a sense of humor. And is awesome.
Moss
Isn't curling really more of a game than a sport? I mean, you don't have to be in great shape or anything.
cryptique
I'm a curling fan, but I would agree that it's a game, not a sport. In a similar vein, figure skating is an athletic activity, but not a sport. Anything that's judged, regardless of the athletic ability required to participate, is not a sport. I'm looking at you, gymnastics, and you, half-pipe snowboarding ... among many others. Just my opinion, naturally.
Winston Legthigh
What about events that only exist within the realm of the Olympics, like luge, skeleton, and bobsledding? Seriously, who luges?
Guest Speed Racer
Well, they are the Olympic Games, not the Olympic Sport and Athleticism Showcase.
Moss
Well, they are the Olympic Games, not the Olympic Sport and Athleticism Showcase. Then where's the chess or Settlers of Catan? Odd injury: German luger chips a tooth biting his medal

bjorn_skurj
!Man, they put shrooms right in the state seal? And how about the U.S. women's win over the Brits in curling?
Guest Runaway Jim
I've become a fan of curling. The Denmark vs. Canada match Friday night was pretty awesome. I got really into it. The Winter Olympics are great. I love the downhill skiing, hockey and apparently now curling. I haven't caught much snowboarding yet, but I like that too. I'm excited to watch the Ski Cross event this afternoon.

auctioneer69
Holy crap this game is exciting. Briiliant game. Went to Vancouver for the day yesterday. Blue skies, one of the most stunning cities in the world, massive crowds on the street and got to see two events (hockey and curling). Fan-bloody-tastic!!!!!!More than anything the sense of joy and pride emanating from the hosts and all Canadians there was something to behold. And again, Vancouver on a clear, sunny day in February can't but help put a massive smile on your face.
SeattleC
Holy crap this game is exciting. No kidding, that was the best hockey game I've seen in a long time. We had split loyalties in the house between Team USA and Team Canada, so that was good for some banter during the game.

I had a meeting with some people from Vancouver on Friday, and they said that the streets are like a hockey game just let out, everywhere downtown all the time. It sounds like a blast. The weather this weekend was amazing to boot. I rode around Lake Washington on my bike today in shorts in February. That's a first.
Smokestack Joe
TEAM USA!!!!!! awesome game, im so happy. Eventhough Canada and Russia are better, this one feels good.

blindgonzo
gah! this one hurt... Team Canada had some AMAZING chances. That USA goalie was pretty damn good tonight. Next time, USA....next time.... curling = awesome agreed! the men's Canada vs Great Britain last night was a GREAT game.
jff
Curling = ice shuffleboard. Horrible event. Why isn't darts in the olympics? Or billiards? Or bowling? All olympic events should have at least a slight possibility of bodily injury.
cryptique
Hater. Love curling. Hope to try it myself someday. Because we're near the border, we get CBC in our cable lineup and I get to watch a lot of tournaments.
jff
Hater. I hate it as an olympic event, and I believe I explained why. I'm sure it's a moderately enjoyable game, like horseshoes and croqeut, neither of which should have any place in the olympics.
cryptique
Who's to say what should and shouldn't be in the Olympics? Ping pong is in the Olympics, but baseball isn't. From an American perspective, this makes no sense. From the perspective of a country where table tennis is a passion, it's perfectly logical. Why is shooting in the Olympics? Archery? The winter Olympics are short on events anyway, at least when compared to the summer games. I have no problem with curling being included (and personally, given the chance, I'd banish figure skating and ice dancing, but they pump up the TV ratings so it'll never happen).
