Sweet Papa Crimbo
Mortality is the one thing we all share. Our beginnings and our endings are all the same. The shortness of life is both a blessing and a curse. My friend was 50 years old. A graduate of West Point, a businessman, a husband, a father and a friend. Our days are few. Hold them precious. u2roolz
Mortality is the one thing we all share. Our beginnings and our endings are all the same. The shortness of life is both a blessing and a curse. My friend was 50 years old. A graduate of West Point, a businessman, a husband, a father and a friend. Our days are few. Hold them precious. Your story made me think of an old Elton John song off of the Tumbleweed Connection record. I think it is somewhat appropriate. I hear you on your thoughts about life. I lost a high school friend of mine while in high school at the age of 16. Talking Old Soldiers Why hello, say can I buy you another glass of beerWell thanks a lot that's kind of you, it's nice to know you careThese days there's so much going onNo one seems to want to knowI may be just an old soldier to someBut I know how it feels to grow old Yeah that's right, you can see me here most every nightYou'll always see me staring at the walls and at the lightsFunny I remember oh it's years ago I'd sayI'd stand at that bar with my friends who've passed awayAnd drink three times the beer that I can drink todayYes I know how it feels to grow old I know what they're saying sonThere goes old man Joe againWell I may be mad at that I've seen enoughTo make a man go out his brainsWell do they know what it's likeTo have a graveyard as a friend`Cause that's where they are boy, all of themDon't seem likely I'll get friends like that again Well it's time I moved offBut it's been great just listening to youAnd I might even see you next time I'm passing throughYou're right there's so much going onNo one seems to want to knowSo keep well, keep well old friendAnd have another drink on meJust ignore all the others you got your memoriesYou got your memories

Magnetized
I was just listening to "On and On and On" yesterday driving home from the beach and thinking about my mom. I was struck by the lines "Please don't cry/We're designed to die"--first time I heard that, it sounded a little awkward to me, but yesterday it hit me just right. When you're in the right mood for it, that song really touches you. Very sorry for your loss.
