Saw the show @ Toad's Place (New Haven, CT) last night. I had seen Blitzen Trapper before (in support of Furr). They're a much tighter band these days. I liked them before, but they were excellent last night. I would strongly recommend you check them.

They were great, weren't they? It was my 4th time seeing them. Where were you standing? We were on the rail in front of Erik Menteer.

DBT were ok. I can take them or leave them, to be honest.

can someone let me know what the set times were?  How long did Blitzen Trapper play?  I see at the Richmond show DBT did 32 songs, which seems like a very long set after an opener.  Did BT play a full hour opening set?  Thanks.

BT went on at 8:30 & I think they probably played for 45 minutes to an hour. Could be different at your show though, so I'd follow Tim's advice.

At the Richmond show BT went on at about 8:15 and played about 45 minutes, I think. I wasn't paying that much attention to the time, but they were excellent.

I'm with twoshedsjackson re DBT, though--I really prefer BT even though I'd never heard them before. There was something about their songs that felt instantly resonant, like I'd heard them before, even though I know I haven't.

Back from Brooklyn in time for a Rock Show in Boston tonite. Blitzen Trapper and Drive-By Truckers. First time for me for both bands. Looking forward to it.

That's a pretty nice couple of days, right there.

How was Soulive?  I enjoyed them the time I saw them.  Any special guests?

Soulive was great. Seen them lots of times in Boston, NOLA and DC, but never on their home turf during their own Bowlive run. Great vibe from the get go. Fantastic venue. This review says it all

They were very good.  I was about 16 "rows" deep between Erik and the Napolean Dynamite-looking multi-intrumentalist.

How was the show?

That was a Rock Show! I brought a bunch of friends, none of us had seen them, they lived up to all our very high expectations. Right from the English Oceans opener through the Grand Canyon feedback drenched closer. Thought BT was ok, good for an opener, wouldn't rush to see them as a headliner. They did a great a Rocky Mountain Way.
