Sweet Papa Crimbo
If you believe the idiots who accuse Obama of being gay, you are among the most willfully asinine, ignorant racists alive. In addition, you are a clear bag of smashed assholes. just kidding ...Am I missing something? Are you refuting an rumor that I have never seen?
froggie
we have a new prime minister.... country's down the shitter now
uncool2pillow
...Am I missing something? Are you refuting an rumor that I have never seen? The rumor is out there. There's a youtube clip of a guy saying he was "gay married" in college and the proof is the ring he wore back then. It's crazier than the birther movement, of course. I would wonder why he brought it up, but I think most of us -- left, right, and center -- have already reached the conclusion that his posts on this forum are better left ignored. Returning to ignoring now.

I do have him ignored...but sometimes the 'train wreck' nature of his posts make me take a gander (usually a mistake). Now I'm going to go look for the 'Obama is gay' material on the internet (i'm bored)...that would explain his unavailability during the Benghazi mess... IRememberDBoon
Are we allowed to talk about what the right wing leaders say about President Obama on viachicago or is that off limits. Im talking about the MAIN voices of the party and the number one news channel in cable history.I can give you a rundown of what they say and their minions call it "crazy talk" I figure Jeff Tweedy campaigned for President Obama ten times or more and for Mayor Emanuel as well. I'll just throw my vote in with Jeff. Anyone who sings Hummingbird cant be but so wrong anyway
uncool2pillow
You're allowed to say any crazy shit you want. Let's hear who these main voices are. Cite your sources please. I am curious who you identify as the main voices of the party.
IRememberDBoon
So, it is “silly” to provide meals for children who may be food insecure at home. What a terrible waste of money that could be better spent elsewhere – such as Congressional voting sessions to repeal Obamacare.
uncool2pillow
Wait, we're not talking about Obama is gay anymore?

I am curious who you identify as the main voices of the party.Ted Nugent is on the NRA board. Lets start with them. "Prominent politicians who appeared included Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Sarah Palin. They have something in common, beyond the fact that they've all run for president before or might in 2016. Like the NRA itself, they all camp out on the conservative fringe but are nevertheless convinced that they represent the mainstream. motionsPerry, who calls Social Security "a monstrous lie" and has flirted in the past with the idea that Texas should secede from the United States, thought that what Americans wanted in a president was Yosemite Sam without the intellectual pretensions. Turned out, not so much.Jindal recently suffered a political setback when he proposed cutting the (progressive) income tax and raising the (regressive) sales tax, I guess because poor people in Louisiana have just been having it too easy. Even his conservative state recoiled, and Jindal's approval ratings plummeted.Cruz has cut a McCarthyite swath through Washington in his four months there, leading to rare agreement between Republicans and Democrats that he's an enormous jerk. Naturally, he's seriously considering a run for president in 2016.And as for the former half-term governor of Alaska? Well, you already know about her."

uncool2pillow
There are lots of idiots on the right. There are plenty on the left. Your line of logic seems to suggest that if one (or ten or thousand) conservatives are loons, they're all loons. Just so you know, I don't hold your loony rantings against the whole left wing. If you're seriously interested in some mainstream conservative thought -- which I doubt -- you can start here: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ They post opinion pieces from lots of media, some left, but mostly leaning right. Mr. Heartbreak
Wow, Real Clear Politics is where the mainstream right wing can be found? That's really interesting, as I used to read their polls almost daily when I was campaigning for President Obama. It's a shame that a nasty wench like Maureen Dowd has a voice there, though. (Her latest piece: "Barry's War Within," in which she continuously refers to our President as "Barry." Pretty damned disrespectful, but par for the course with her.) I can see where IRDB is coming from when it comes to voices on the right. Sure, there are mainstream Republicans, but they are increasingly being "primaried" by folks far to the right of them. I will not be at all surprised if Rand Paul gets the nomination in 2016. It seems that the lessons learned from 2008 and 2012 have not been "be more inclusive, don't repel women and minorities," etc., but rather, "if someone thinks you're too far right, tell 'em to fuck off and lurch further right." That really seems to be where the party is going.
uncool2pillow
RCP is, like Drudge Report, a clearinghouse. I think they tend to give more prominent attention to conservative povs, but they publish liberal pieces as well.

brownie
DAMN forgot about Christie. I think he could be President. He scares the bejesus out of me.Really? You think he could be President? I don't see it. He just seems too "in your face" to me. Mind you, Chris Christie was born and raised, and still lives, within 25 miles of where I have lived my entire life. If anyone here is from NJ, it has been offered up to me by others who were born and raised here, that he is trying to be "Nicky Newark." *laughs* Those from northern NJ know exactly what I"m talking about. Others, sorry, I honestly can't explain it, you'd have to have grown up in northern NJ.
Atticus
uncool2pillow can you site some main voices of the party that aren't crazy people? maybe it's just your rhetorical style, but the fact that you paint anyone who disagrees with your views as "crazy" makes it difficult to engage in any substantively rewarding conversations with you. uncool2pillow
Let's debate ideas, not people. I could cite someone, like Christie or McCain or lots of other people, but I don't understand the point. It's the ideas that are important.maybe it's just your rhetorical style, but the fact that you paint anyone who disagrees with your views as "crazy" makes it difficult to engage in any substantively rewarding conversations with you. Just read Atticus's post. It's much more on point than mine.

I have many many Republican friends that work on the Hill and one old roommate and bestest buddy that's on Fox all the time now. Hes another of you self proclaimed independents even though he worked for President Bush and Senator Shelby on The Banking Committee. His name is Mark Calabria and hes at CATO now. You should look for him. One of the best economists on the right. Its never personal when you live there but people here get insulted by it. My apologies.

bjorn_skurj
I'm sorry to have to bring this discussion back to teacher salaries, but I thought I would put this up to make teachers who do not have the good fortune to work in New York envious of their Empire State colleagues: Kingston, NY is the only New York town to crack the top twenty best places for teachers to work. Kingston beat them out with its affordable cost of living index of 108 and the second highest median salary in the Northeast of $78,040. The city was the first capital of the State of New York for twenty years before Albany. The school district covers 640 teachers over eleven elementary schools. - See more at: http://www.valuepenguin.com/2013/09/best-cities-teachers-northeast#sthash.IJdY0qbc.dpuf
