Bosco
well that was when Pete was playing acoustic, and they had people like Billy Idol playing parts (i think he was the bell boy). my wife went to that, as well as to the recent one...it was pretty clear which she preferred. The 90's shows had Entwistle, 'nuff said!
choo-choo-charlie
RS's list wasn't the work of one writer. but you did get one thing right. my opinion is definitely better than the collective of RS. i'm just really pissed that Hoobastank didn't make it. They stank.
Guest Jules
thanks for paying attention, sweetie. Good bit, but it's getting a little too deliberate.
tinnitus photography
Jules, why so judgmental all the time?
Atticus
It's not really judgmental to call a tree a tree
Guest Jules
Jules, why so judgmental all the time? Am I? You seem to be trolling for something. Not sure what.
mountain bed
Every time RS makes a list I get pissed. For example - Rush is a Top 5 live act and has been for nearly 40 years.
tinnitus photography
Am I? You seem to be trolling for something. Not sure what. you deflected the chance for a dialog re: top 50, so I'm not really sure where you are coming from regarding the troll comment. and now yr pal Atticus has joined in the fun. Guest Don Draper
I bet if you shared your thoughts about live acts that other people might reply to them. Even if Jules doesn't, it could be fun.My top live acts: 1. Trampled by Turtles (local, but I love them and that seems to make the shows more fun)2. Bob Dylan (hit and miss obviously, but when he's on there's nothing better)3. Tom Petty4. Bruce. Duh.5. Belle & Sebastian - since they got over themselves they've been a gas

Mine: 1. Paul McCartney - I rarely play the Beatles anymore, unless they come up in my iTunes at work. But Sir Paul's nearly 3-hour shows, all 3 times I have seen them, were life-affirming, life-changing events. Amazing.2. Wilco - Yep. I'd rank 'em that high. They are in a zone.3. Bruce Cockburn - Still gets my vote for best living guitarist in the world. He could play an instrumental-only show and it would be mesmerizing. But he also has a million great songs.4. The Who - Well, what's left of 'em, anyway.5. Buddy Guy - Going to see him for the 5th or 6th time in November, and can't wait. When it comes to blues, nobody else has a tone like that. Closest I will ever get to hearing Hendrix live.
