knotgreen
I didn't jot down the setlist, but what a hilarious show! Definitely some of the funniest Jeff banter that I've ever experienced. Some highlights: 1. My Darling!! Definitely didn't think I'd ever hear this one... Jeff claimed there were 400 or so requests, and the runner up, Jesus Etc, had only 4. The enthusiastic requestor never came forward; Jeff said something like: "Bet you didn't think I'd play it. My playing it was a 'Fuck you!'" 2. A really obnoxious lady in the front row shouted for You and I, and I was sure that Jeff wouldn't humor her but he did, and I can't help but think he began to regret it almost immediately. The lady invited herself to sing the Feist parts and it was absolutely hilarious/ cringe worthy. Once the song was over Jeff said something along the lines of "That bitch knows how to have fun! I've never called a woman a bitch before, but my wife would be okay with this. I mean 'Bitch' in the nicest way..." 3. We got a new song that Jeff said they're still working on. I haven't been paying much attention to recent setlists, but I'm under the impression that this was the first time it's been played. From memory the acoustic portion of the set included:EDIT: Setlist from Wilco's Facebook: 01 - Nobody Dies Anymore02 - Fake Fur Coat03 - Diamond Light Pt. 104 - Flowering05 - Summer Noon06 - World Away07 - New Moon08 - Honey Combed09 - Desert Bell10 - Slow Love11 - Wait For Love12 - High As Hello13 - Why Why Why14 - Love Like a Wire (Diane Izzo cover)15 - Low Key16 - Via Chicago**17 - I Am Trying to Break Your Heart**18 - My Darling**19 - Muzzle Of Bees**20 - Hummingbird**21 - You And I$22 - Passenger Side**23 - Jesus, Etc.**24 - I'm the Man Who Loves You**25 - Acuff-Rose (Uncle Tupelo)%Encore:26 - Only The Lord Knows (Mavis Staples cover)27 - California Stars ** solo acoustic$ with "Leslie Feist" aka lady in the front row% unplugged
worldrecordplayer
What a fun night! Jeff was hilarious despite not feeling well. There was a "Tweedy Nurse" in the audience. Jeff said his wife would not approve. The band sounded awesome, those new songs really come alive with the full band. Some part of that had to the result of hearing music in the Berklee Performance Center. What an amazing sounding room. Hearing My Darling was a big surprise. My friend got the song request list, it was on there 469 times or something like that. Jeff asked the requestor to identify him/herself. Nobody owned up to it. The acoustic portion started with Via Chicago, then IATTBYH, Muzzle, Hummingbird, then I forget the order. Seemed like we got cut short a song or 2 because of curfew. Magnetized
Wow, you got lucky to get to hear a work in progress. I've never been at a show where he did that. I mean, I know he has done that, but I think it's been quite some time. Do you remember any lines or general theme?
Caty
The new song - the chorus included "why, why, why". Re "my darling", the following was on twitter: Thanks @JeffTweedy for playing "My Darling." I requested it for my wife... Who missed the show when one of our kids got sick. Also, @JeffTweedy, sorry for being over zealous with the request feature on your website. I kinda lost count. My favorite banter of the night was probably Jeff saying that he spent all of Spencer's college fund on guitars. And that is why spencer has to play in the band now to make money for school. He also made some comment about having guitars with names on them ("Bob" was the example at the time) so that "he doesn't have to introduce them". Oh - and he told a story about a show in Berkeley - Spencer and Sue went missing in the afternoon and returned with Spencer in head to toe tie dye. At the show that night Jeff pulled him up on stage and said "look what you hippies have done". I feel like I have heard that story before. Band sounded great, and so much more comfortable with each other than the Baltimore show I saw in June.

twoshedsjackson
What a fun show! I've never seen Jeff Happier or funnier. It's a testament to his good mood that he allowed that awful, loud, attention seeking "singer" in the front row to humiliate herself rather than doing it for her. My Darling was an excellent surprise, as was the new song, which was very upbeat and catchy. It'll be interesting to see if, when & with which band it will be recorded. This was my third time seeing Tweedy, and the first without the Lucius girls doing harmonies. As prominent as they are on the record, I wondered how the band would compensate live without them. They did a great job, particularly Liam. The only thing that really sucked about last night was getting into Boston. We left home early with plans of meeting friends for dinner before the show. Instead we got an extra hour in traffic. Oh, and the Prudential building screwed us out of $38 for parking (no indication of price until you're leaving, of course).Other than that it was a great night. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

jamaicaplain
Loved the show. Really did not like the "You and I" woman sitting a couple rows away from us up front. Her enthusiasm seemed well intentioned but was really annoying, beyond her forceful insertion into the duet parts on You & I. Though that took the cake. Generally the crowd felt a little quiet and this made that woman stand out to me even more. The fully acoustic Acuff Rose was beautiful as always. And I am really enjoying the Mavis Staples / Tweedy song -- Only the Lord Knows. There is so much energy when they play that song.
roadhse ma
Sat in Mid Orch with my Daughter / Tip of the Cap to a board member here .The room was relaxed for the most part. Excepting the occasional bellows from the crowd. When JT asking how many are Berklee Students it seemed out 25% of the crowd responded. One of my favorite quips last was " OK from now on Only Berklee Students are allowed hand clapping during the song"As noted JT was in a great mood and Although He and Spencer were both battling colds you really could not notice. This show sounded great. Im sure some will not agree w/ the following ..I would like the new songs interspersed bit more with more familiar just so the pacing would be better.A total core of new then, the onught of fsmiliar could use a bit more balancing.Lastly the song sung without a Mic was bold and he totally pulled that off!He is such a Treasure !Bring on Solid Sound! slyke25
Hello everyone, Great show yesterday. I actually took some photos last night, and figured I'd share them with all of you if you want to check them out. http://bostonthroughmyeyes.com/post/98591312201 Until next time. notary
As has already been pointed out, Jeff was in rare form last night. On the reason he was allowed to get some laughs at Spencer's expense: "I changed his diapers. This afternoon." In response to some hoots in between songs: "Is there a tuning fetish? I bet that's a thing. Worst. Porn site. Ever." When the woman in the front row, whom Jeff had just introduced as Leslie Feist, defended her pretty obnoxious insistence on being part of the show by yelling out "I don't get out much": That is really surprising. Walt Whitman's Nephew
A really great show. We caught the Portsmouth Tweedy show in July and this one was better. (Maybe it was just because I was more familiar with the songs.) Either way, everything sounded great. As mentioned in the posts above, Jeff was in good form, and kept the mood light. I would say I wasn't thrilled with the woman who sang along with "You and I," but, since I was the one who requested "My Darling" a few too many times, I feel like I am in no position to cast aspersions. Also, I apologize for trying to rig the acoustic set. (I did feel better when a few audience members called out that Friday's performance of that song made them cry.) Overall, a really great show and hopefully this isn't the last we'll hear (or see) of Tweedy.
The Inside of Outside
Well done, Walt Whitman's Nephew - I always enjoy a good ballot box stuffing! Many here have likely done something similar. Well, maybe not 469 times. And welcome to VC!
worldrecordplayer
Way to go WWN! But how come you didn't identify yourself when Tweedy called you out? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Walt Whitman's Nephew
I didn't stand up because I was a bit embarrassed by the high number of requests I made. I was making the requests on the Wilco site while I was on-hold during phone calls... I'd like to think this says a lot about hold times and less about my determination to get my song played, but that's probably not the case.
worldrecordplayer
You put my previous efforts to shame! I was trying to get Summer Teeth played at one of the Lockn' sets, but obviously didn't have the fortitude you demonstrated.
