Signed Wilco Album - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

I picked up a copy of this album - CD - from a secondhand store which appears to be signed by the band.

Glenn Kotche (far left)

Jeff Tweedy (middle)

Leroy Bach (right)

John Stirratt

And Jay Bennett at the bottom (?)

I'd love to know what others think this might be worth.

cheers

Pretty sure it's Mike's John Hancock at the bottom, fwiw (one of his early signatures...haha). And as far as worth, I always liked Jeff's comment that he's signed so much stuff over the years that unsigned stuff is probably worth more than the signed stuff at this point...B)

You got yourself a pretty cool thing there. That's probably the best way to think of it.

I once bid on a t-shirt on eBay that was from the YHF tour and was signed by all members of the band at the time. It was actually featured in the Sam Jones movie. I put in a maximum bid of $60 but ended up the only bidder and got it for less than $20.

Selling band memorabilia is really kind of goofy thing to do.  The band is kindly giving a fan something nice for free and then they turn around and try to sell it makes no sense.  That's my opinion though. And clearly the original poster is NOT a fan.

I'm guessing the original poster is fishing for a price to attach to it on eBay, or maybe they're hoping someone here is going to put in an offer.

lol community forums clearly haven't changed in the 15 years since I used them. Still full of passive aggressive losers, eh Louie?

enjoy!

Nope - community forums haven't change in the past 15 years - if your first post in the ocmmunity is you trying to sell something rather than contribute to the community, the community determines most rightfully that you are probably a douche trying to make a buck.  And you shouldn't be surprised when they take very opportunity to call you out on your motives.

Thanks. I thought it might just be me.

Bands sign stuff for their fans as an appreciation to those fans, not as a way for "fans" to make money off them. There is nothing aggressive or indication that one is a loser for suggesting this.  They do it out of love and I am sure don't appreciate signed merch as a commodity.

Maybe in in a few years a Jeff Tweedy signature on something will be worthy of this type of attention, but right now the guys are an active band with many more years ahead of them.  And not to be coy, we aren't talking about the Beatles here.
