Thank you! My second cousin died on a Saturday night. I was pretty sure that the wake would never be the same night as The Cure film, but I think they had to delay it to allow out of town family to fly in. Glad I never bought a ticket. I’m guessing October for the Blu-ray.

Where are you where they had this film on a Sunday evening? I checked around New England and all of the showings were on Thursday evening.

NOLA. I had tickets to the Friday night screening, but Tropical Storm Barry got in the way.

I have never seen the Cure, but I would very much like to.  Maybe it will work out this time.

They're always incredible live. I saw them twice during their last American tour, and they were phenomenal. How Robert Smith's voice can possibly be as strong as it was 30 years ago is mind-boggling.

40 plus years now!! Yes saw all three MSG shows last tour I can’t wait for them to come back!

Nice to see this band back on the road. Just looked up the setlist from the first night in Latvia. Isn’t that where Doctor Doom is from in Marvel Comics?

A couple of debuts for the first night. I’m sure there will be more. It also notes that this is Perry Bamonte’s first show since 2004.

Glad I was wrong about the setlist. I wasn't sure that they would do new material.

Now that the European tour is done I'm hoping we get an announcement in January for the North American tour. I've heard several shows from Europe & the shows are fantastic. They've been doing 5 songs from the upcoming album & they're great. Close to 3 hour shows again. They've added Perry Bamonte to the line-up on guitar & keyboards so at times it's the Lynyrd Skynyrd of goth haha. I had fears that they were going to do another nostalgia go round & I'm happy to say I was wrong. I may go to more than one show if I'm able physically & financially. I expect the tickets are going to be in the $100 range which seems fair. They've been pretty fan friendly. They're only charging $25 for t-shirts which is usually a good sign. While they don't actively condone it, they're pretty taper friendly. I think I've got the whole European tour & the setlists are what you want.

I wouldn't mind catching them again, too.

Looking forward to the getting of Wish on vinyl, too.

I don't do vinyl due to financial reasons & because my hands don't work right from the arthritis so I drop stuff a real lot. CDs take that abuse better. That being said, I picked up the anniversary package of Wish on CD. It's pretty wonderful. Not the extra stuff so much but the remaster of the album is incredible. It sounds like a totally different record. So good it's moving up my list of favorite Cure records. I was in the music biz over 25 years & have seen hundreds of shows. I used to get paid to go & at my peak I was out 3 or 4 nights a week. For years the Cure were my bucket list band. Something always happened when they came to town that didn't let me go. The worst was 1992. I had prime tickets, backstage passes, the works. Day of the show my mom died. My gf at the time & her brother went. Happily, I finally broke the curse in 2016. When the tour was announced Seattle was on the list but they were playing the late & unlamented Sasquatch festival. Over 2 hour drive each way & shorter sets (& that year brush fires causing the whole festival to be covered in smoke haze). So I said f it & bit the bullet for a ticket to the Vegas show. It was the smallest venue on the tour. I got a great seat, front of the balcony on the Reeves side. The band totally delivered. They started with the first 3 songs of Disintegration & I almost had a heart attack. The show was so good that I got a ticket for 1.5 weeks later in Ridgefield, WA across the river from Portland. They hadn't played Portland in well over 10 years & people were riled up. The band totally got the energy & played 3 hours (half hour more than Vegas). During the "put your hands to the sky" part of From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea there were 30,000 hands in the air. They also busted out some really old stuff like Charlotte Sometimes & material from Pornography. One of my favorite concerts of all time & that's saying a lot. I'm looking forward to seeing them in 2023, God willing.
