tblair
http://drownedinsound.com/releases/19591/reviews/4150362 "Wilco's worst album"hate to say it, but I agree. Maybe not for the same reasons, but I just got the album, and apart from 2 or 3 tracks, it's pretty devoid of much that I want to hear again. What's with the whispering vocal style? Jeff has a great voice, but not here.
nalafej
If I Ever Was a Child made Rolling Stone Magazine's Singles of the year list coming in at #15. They are in very un-similar company.
nalafej
Schmilco did not get nominated for a Grammy. I think that is the first Wilco album to not get nominated since Summerteeth. But, as Jeff used to say prior to winning one, "Fuck the Grammys"
calvino
Was kinda surprised Greg Kot didn't even mention the record in his 'best of list' in Sunday's Tribune paper. Not even a honorable mentioned. Typically he throws them a bone, at least.
Chez
^^ Jim DeRogatis had Schmilco ranked #30th for 2016. So if Schmilco was a college football team, they would be playing in the Camping World Independence Bowl.
