nalafej
I thought it might be fun to see what creative ideas we all have for the band to adopt for their themed set. What do you all think? My best suggestion is 90's night: Play up on all that the 90's had going for them via visuals and wardrobe and them dedicate a set to songs from AM, Being There, Summerteeth, Mermaids, etc. The audience could be invited to get into the wardrobe thing too. Other decades are doable - I'd personally lay off the 2010's, but 2000's Wilco would be awesome as would 2020's. An obvious parrellel would be an era's setlist a la TS with clumps of songs from each release. Others: Alternative arrangement night Wheel of songs (sort of like YLT has done) Special Guest night - a different musician joins each song.

Spangly leotards all round. I think you're on to a winner (as long as they don't forget the spare pairs of socks - except Pat of course who doesn't need that). And to think that in this day and age it would probably be possible to AI-up an image of that, but I don't think we want to go there now or it will spoil the surprise at SS.
nalafej
They are announcing Friday's set later this week per instagram. Seems early. Hope they can top Eras!
TCP
Here's my realistic wishlist: Uncle Tupelo reunion with Jay Farrar Mermaid Avenue night with Billy Bragg Here's my slightly more realistic wishlist: Mermaid Avenue night without Billy Bragg I think it's been long enough that doing another covers night would be fine. Maybe combine with a theme and do 90s cover night? Let's hear Jeff do Teen Spirit and Jeremy. Another acoustic night would be fine too and they have some new acoustic arrangements which would work now.

So with or without Billy?

Only thing that could top those would be a Cruel Country-like debut of a new album (super unlikely).

Call it special, call it historic, whatever you call it: Solid Sound 2026 is one you won’t want to miss.
Brian F. Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM Going back about as far as you can go with this band, there's not a lot I haven't seen them do. I am very stoked that they have managed to find something that will be new to me.
TCP
God dammit, why do I have to be so good at predicting things? I was hoping I wouldn't want to go. The US is so expensive and the whole Trump thing makes going to the US very unappealing. But to hear Jeff, John, and Pat sing "I'll not say which seaman" or Nels taking the solo in She Came Along To Me... that opportunity only comes once in a lifetime. Wilco’s announcement includes a picture of the cat on Mermaid Ave Vol II placed in front of the MASS MoCA campus. They imply the first LP will be played since it is the original Mermaid Ave, but might Vol II be the encore? Giggity.

uncool2pillow
Going to try really hard to make this happen. My family was already planning to be with some extended family on Cape Cod for the 4th.
