yeah, it's definitely not New York. The only thing that allows me to admit to being a New Yorker is having that private knowledge.
-
I wholeheartedly concur.

My erstwhile hippie compound is about 4 minutes from Massachusetts.

'twas a wonderful show, despite my not knowing almost any of the songs (what? no whiskeytown!?! ). The band sounded great, pedal steel throughout and DAMN the boy can sing!

Have you not seen Paint Your Wagon? -
couldn't have happened to a nicer fella. oh wait, it's happened to plenty of nicer fellas.

I bought two, and a new copy of Being There for good measure.

In this case, I think age does have something to do with it. The songs are about working your way through life experiences that you can only experience as you pile on the years.

I hear that Froggie! Methinks this is an album for older folks, who've been on the roller coaster for awhile. "He keeps his wife like a doxy." Note to self: Stoll Road. West Saugerties.

and for my nineteenth birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat .... one of the most depressing songs ever, apologies for that, but hope your 47th is better!

Age-inappropriate? definitely. Suitworthy? only a lawyer would think so. Emotional distress? oy vey -- Jessica's parents need to get a grip. -
I always thought that was reason enough to elope.

Jessica needs to get over herself. I sure hope for her sake her parents don't have cable. -
musta been fun -- damn the haters. I love the corny humor of PHC, and Wilco is a natural fit for that show.

once more, from the top!

Graham! many happy returns, wonderful person.

NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND OTHER LIVING THINGS MOTHERS' DAY HUMOR: I met an older woman at a bar last night. She wasn't bad for 57, we drank and bullshitted a bit, then she asked if I'd ever had the 'sportsman's double', a mother and daughter threesome? I said no. We drank a bit more, then she says that tonight was my lucky night. I went back to her place. She put the hall light on and shouted upstairs: "Mom, you still awake?" Happy Mother's Day ladies!

Im a serial monogamist in all things musical and romantic. I listened to Being There, ONLY Being There, for at least a year. Picking a Wilco album is akin to Sophie's Choice, without the dire consequences. It's like having children, you love them all -- they all have distinct personalities, some might be easier to love and some more challenging, but no one can really be called a favorite.
