I really appreciated seeing Autumn Defense up close at The Pines last year. Lovely gents.

that's brilliant ... the reason I hate tshirts (and never wear them) is the neckline is so uncomfortable. and everything looks better in a v-neck. uh, cue the cleavage shots I guess.

I'll be coming well, via Troy. That is if the weather is suitable for camping.
-
per Wilcoworld, bring two cans of food to get $10 off the show poster. I hope this isn't sold out ... I'm holding out for a weather report, cuz I'll be camping if I go.

Im reminded that my first car was a green 60s Beetle with oversized purple fenders, big mag wheels, and a 10 foot CB antenna waving off the back. It made me laugh then, and it makes me laugh now. I also saw the I Am Your Face commercial last night ... I've never had valet parking in my life, so the yuppie factor annoys me, but the music made the commercial work.

me too ... haven't missed a trip to the Maine beaches in many years, and now my daughter is living there. Beyond that, New England Wilco-ing (wait, that's this week?!) and WV amateur spelunking.

Im fairly sure there was alot of VC action upfront, including a secret VT contingent, but how would we know? I was the one actively engaged in heatstroke, sweating to death -- Im hoping for the rearrival of my health (by way of cooler weather) at this one. Actually I think the sight of Jeff all hirsute and jacketed contributed to the failure of my internal thermostat.

I was up front and didn't take any shots of the crowd, but it's a sweet, small outdoor ampitheater, a sloping lawn surrounded by trees. My guess was it held maybe 3000. A beauty spot. Look Park is a big picnic ground, with playing fields, a playground/waterpark, snack bar (near the venue) and a kiddy train. Tailgating by all means.

maybe all us VC could just wear black pajamas.
-
I'll be there. We really need VC hats or something.
-
many happy returns Eric!

I just got home, but I'll have some pics of the aftershow meetup soon. What a great crew of people the Wilcos attract!

"When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years." Cheers daddios. -
you're one of us guys now -- you newby/lurkers should come to the restaurant and meet some of VC's well-travelled crazies, I mean finest!

not even close.

Gerald Malcom Durrell -- a naturalist and humorist. As a young boy his English family moved to Corfu, and he became a budding naturalist and keen observer of the human animal as well. Very funny books about family life, cultural clash and mesh, and the critters too. I was very happy to catch a BBC rerun of a program that was made from one of his books, not sure which. I reread several of them recently. Birds, Beasts and Relatives My Family and Other Animals The Aye-Aye and I to name a few. I think he may be out of print now. I'm planning to reread Misty of Chincoteague sometime

will it be unveiled Wednesday?!??! I come bearing gifties.
-
very happy birthday Rosie! miss you around here.

Im all for parking once, so anything across the street from the venue sounds good. But I'm easy and will defer to the masses.
-
what a difference a word makes. Im currently at my job that I left a month ago, and it's not nearly as boring/aggravating knowing I don't even have to be here.

If some dude was mowing my lawn, I wouldn't interrupt him either. No euphemisms were employed in the creation of this post.

if I hadn't been logo free since '83, I'd dig up a VW tshirt to wear. Nah, I couldn't do it.

I used to be ABATT I had skin like leather and the diamond-hard look of a cobra I was born blue and weathered but I burst just like a supernova I could walk like Brando right into the sun Then dance just like a Casanova With my blackjack and jacket and hair slicked sweet Silver star studs on my duds like a Harley in heat When I strut down the street I could hear its heartbeat The sisters fell back and said "Don't that man look pretty" The cripple on the corner cried out "Nickels for your pity" Them gasoline boys downtown sure talk gritty It's so hard to be a saint in the city I was the
