Whether or not this is true, it's still a better record than W(TA). In my opinion, naturally.

That whole album is a pop gem.

To me, the only thing that can explain the Qatar decision is massive corruption of the FIFA Executive Committee, half of whom probably won't even be alive in 2022, but they're all likely to be buying new yachts soon. Qatar has a population of 1.7 million and is smaller in land area that Connecticut. Oh, and it's over 100 degrees there much of the time. How is this a good idea? (Yes, I'm bitter that the U.S. lost ... but at least if Australia had been awarded the '22 Cup I would have been able to understand.)

Yeah, Sam Roberts deserves more recognition.

I think the Yankees figure they need to shore up their position in the media and shame Jeter into signing for a smaller number, which could backfire, but probably won't (if Jeter bolts, the Yankees can at least claim that they made him a fair offer). Jeter made $22.6 million this year and didn't play all that well. They've offered him what, $45 million for three years? And he's 36? He should jump on that, because he's not going to get a $15 million per year offer anywhere else.

Ugh, I just listened to this. Bleah. Note-for-note, but it's an acoustic guitar instead of a full band (some more instruments enter in the last thirty seconds or so, but no bass or drums). I have no idea who the female singer is. A mediocre song made worse by someone else.

Yeah, though I'm intrigued by the possibility of further involvement by Owen, I'm not buying it. The dude just left on an around-the-world trip. He's out of the picture. I've been a Tweedy fan since Uncle Tupelo's first album in 1990. Lately, I just don't think he's writing songs of the same quality as many of his older songs -- particularly on the latest Wilco album, but also on the other two studio albums released since the departure of Jay Bennett. I don't know if Bennett was the missing ingredient or whether Tweedy simply went a different way with his songwriting, but whatever the reason, I just don't think the band's songs have been as good since YHF.
