"Boardwalk Empire" just keeps getting better. The only other new thing I'm watching is "Terriers" on FX, which is the latest Donal Logue vehicle. It's set in Ocean Beach, San Diego, and it's pretty entertaining so far (though I'm currently a couple of episodes behind -- need to catch up via On Demand).

I dislike the taste of coffee, and avoid it entirely, even as an ingredient in other things (mocha ice cream? gross). I keep my caffeine intake to an absolute minimum. But, whatever gets you through the day, right? My near-total abstinence from caffeine means that when I do get a jolt of the stuff, it works. I'm the lone dissenter in a family of coffee addicts. My father kept getting more and more serious about his coffee over the years, and that process culminated in him finally setting up his own roasting operation in his basement. He disappears downstairs periodically to re-up the stash

That cracks me up too ... and it also bothers me that Dexter keeps his phone on when he's stalking/killing. Didn't he learn anything from the GPS incident in the Everglades? They can track you, dumbass.

Holy crap that was awful.

I saw them touring on Dust Bunnies and they were amazing that night -- but it was a pretty big crowd. Sad to hear that they're not pulling in the patrons like they used to.

I'd go (I live in A2) but that night's a certain important anniversary... Plus, I'm going to the Posies show in Detroit the next night. By all means, though, go if you have any such inclination. The Ark rules. You'll probably never see a full-band show with a better sound mix or a more polite crowd. (Don't expect to buy alcohol, however, unless you're a member -- its liquor license is of the "private club" class.)

I'm having trouble with the phrase "the time has come..." Why now? What makes this moment better for a UT reunion than any other moment? No, the time has not come. There's a minuscule chance that the time will come someday, but don't count on it.

In Paris, you certainly can't go wrong with the Louvre, but I concur with those who prefer the Musee D'Orsay. However, as someone has already noted, a large portion of its collection is currently touring the U.S., so this may not be the best time to visit (and, if I recall correctly, the collection is on the road because they're renovating). In Rome, don't bother with the Vatican (and especially the Sistine Chapel) unless you've been dying to see them. Instead, go to the Forum*.
