  1. Yes, good to know that Grant is OK. And also, his cats.
  2. I thought I might be the only one here to stick up for all five albums, but I can see that I was wrong. So, fuck it: The Police. Every album rules.
  3. Yeah, I love all five albums. But I know that many people don't.
  4. If only Van Halen had hung it up when DLR left...
  5. Hopefully that means they'll release a loud, friggin ROCK album.
  6. Sorry, I passed out there for a moment. One of my favorite albums of all time.
  7. The rumor is that Cutler sustained a torn MCL in the second quarter, then tried to play on it in the third quarter but couldn't. If true, there's a whole bunch of asshole football players who've already provided bulletin board material for next season. Twitter kills. Also, some so-called fans whose season tickets ought to be revoked (if they have them). Cutler's not a personable guy, but I have no doubt that he works hard and plays to the best of his ability. Chicago fans should be kissing his ass for getting their Bears to the NFC Championship game.
  8. Really looking forward to this, though it once again causes me to wonder why Seth Rogen has to be in EVERYthing.

  10. This. I especially don't get the hate for Shepherd's Dog. It's a great record, as are all of his so far.
  11. Yeah, but someone will pay that, and possibly much more. It's a one-of-a-kind item.
  12. Looks like they screwed something up and have to start over. So those of us who bought tickets will be refunded, and they'll re-post the "auction" (really more of a raffle, right?) soon.
  13. I bought my tickets. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of my sweet new ride.
  14. OK. I thought the lyrics on the self-titled record were pretty great.
  15. Can't wait for this. The last one was SO good. From the Lightning Rod Records website: New Album From Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit Coming April 12 Here We Rest, new album from Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, is set for an April 12th release on Lightning Rod Records. Here We Rest is the second album from Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, and Isbell’s third. Their 2009 self-titled debut received high praise from the press, including Rolling Stone, Spin, Paste, Blurt, Details, Washington Post and many more. An Alabama native, Isbell comes from a tradition of Southern music. He proudly
  16. Right. More guns = more chaos = more death. One armed police officer may have made a difference. Half a dozen armed civilians may have resulted in an even bloodier, inadvertent massacre.
  17. The questions I've been pondering lately (and that I haven't seen asked elsewhere) are these: 1. Why wasn't there a police officer on detail for this event? A sitting congresswoman does a meet-and-greet with her constituents and there's no armed security? I realize that budgets are tight and a congresswoman can't have a cop following her around at all times, but has Arizona cut taxes so far that the local constabulary couldn't shake loose one officer to patrol this event? (I'm assuming there weren't any police there, because this guy got off an awful lot of shots and from what I've read, n
  18. Arizona doesn't allow "not guilty by reason of insanity" verdicts. He could get "guilty but insane" and go to an institution, but if he's ever declared sane he would then go to a regular prison to serve the remainder of his sentence. So there's that.
  19. Yup. That dickhead has already gotten way too much press. Everyone knows his name ... how many know the names of his victims?
  20. Meh. I don't do it myself, but I can understand why people do. I often wish the populace weren't so benighted, and I think the world would probably be in better shape without religion, superstition, belief in supernatural stuff, etc. It's a mostly futile pursuit, which is the main reason I don't engage in it, but I appreciate some of those who do.
  21. Gotta be Photoshop, right? edit: Yeah, here's the original Beck photo...
