Just testing:

They're in a Flash slideshow. I don't know of any way to save them except screen captures, but maybe someone else does.

A minor issue, but ever since the board came back up from last night's downtime, I can't see special characters like umlauts. Instead I see little diamonds that have question marks in them. Check Dude and bbop's screen names or deepseacatfish's signature for examples. Oh, and then there's this. Anyone else similarly afflicted? I use Firefox version 2.0.0.13, and have seen the issue both at home and at work.

I took all five to the framer over the weekend. It's going to be scary expensive, and I'm not even having them matted. It'll be great to finally hang 'em on the wall, though.

What's the rarest record or memorabilia you have from any band?

There's a group of which I'm glad I'm not a member. -
Well, looky there ... they updated them. I don't expect they'll thank me.

I've ragged on them since the '80s. I was interested in them for a while, but as I listened to them more, I liked them less and less, and the songs just didn't stand up to repeated listening for me. It's really hard to get past a lot of Morrison's excesses, both as a lyricist and a vocalist, and Manzarek, who initially struck me as a genius, really started to wear thin on me musically. I always appreciated the drumming of Densmore (and still do), and Krieger was no slouch, but they were relegated to supporting roles for the most part and couldn't steer the band away from some of the absurd d

Thanks. Most, if not all, of the team records are inaccurate, and it's not just a matter of being slow to update from last night's games. Check out the Padres, for example -- listed at 7-5, but they won yesterday to move their record to 7-6. That means they never were 7-5 this season, because prior to yesterday they were 6-6. I sent a message to Stats LLC and CC'ed SI.com. I know it's a minor thing, but holy crap, what kind of idiots have they left in charge of this stuff? There are two divisions where the standings are inaccurate because they have the team won-loss records wrong.
-
Just double-checking something: can someone navigate to the SI.com MLB standings page and tell me what the Tigers' record is (according to that page)? I'm drafting an e-mail to SI.com and Stats LLC, their stats provider. Just want to make sure I'm not the only one seeing some issues with that page. (The Tigers' record is just one of many errors.)

Sounds like me playing any baseball video game I've ever encountered. I can never get my fielders to throw to the base I want.
-
Fielding? The guy's made two errors, which is a lot for him over so few games, but not awful. It's his hitting that's been putrid. (He's the one Tiger on my fantasy team. )
-
I doubt it. He does not appear on their list of who's played there over the years (which is impressive nonetheless).

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't judge the Byrds based on some recently assembled faux lineup. If Jim Morrison were still alive and performing in some version of the Doors, I can't imagine they would seem any less ridiculous. I saw "The Robbie Krieger Band" several years ago, which was basically a Doors cover band featuring one actual member, and it was pretty grim.

I won't dispute that, but I didn't like 'em long before that. The station I was listening to this morning played "Moonlight Drive" during my commute.
-
I'll be in California when they play here in Michigan. I've never heard of the venue they're playing up in Pontiac.

Mostly because they drastically scaled back their stock of CDs to open up floorspace for the kiosks. The kiosks don't interest me in the slightest -- I want a place that will offer me a varied and deep stock of CDs. Also, I just didn't like the overall layout of the new location. I suppose I'll get used to it eventually, but it didn't seem to make a lot of sense to me on my first visit.

I voted "can't stand it" but I've been forced to grow accustomed to it over my many years. In a perfect world, it wouldn't happen.

Seva is a good, but not necessarily healthy, vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. My girlfriend is vegetarian and I often eat that way, so it's a place we go when we want a treat. (On Liberty between the downtown strip on Main and the campus strip on State.) Raja Rani was suggested for Indian, and there's nothing wrong with it (it's many people's favorite) but I also like Shalimar on Main, and Madras Masala, which is on Maynard around the corner from the big Borders. I haven't heard much about Chennai Vilas (on North Main) since it changed its name, but its predecessor in the same space

The corporate office is in an office park south of town. No retail there. The downtown location, which I guess could be called the flagship store, is no longer in its original location (which was just around the corner on State Street), but it is pretty large and well-stocked -- perhaps more so than other locations. As for testing out new ideas ... the new location on Lohr Road near the Meijer store is pretty different, in that they have these digital kiosks where you can burn your own CDs, etc. It just opened in February, and I was all excited to have a location nearby that I could park a

I don't think they have Bi Bim Bop on the menu, but if they do, the answer would be no.
-
Don't worry, I highly doubt it'll sell out.
-
Preposterous statement, sorry.
-
I'm not the best one to give advice on stuff to do around town (I'm the kind of person who stays home a lot) but I could offer some restaurant ideas. What do you like?
-
Huh. I'd love to see this, but I'm not sure I'll be able to. We get on a plane the next day for a week in San Francisco and I'll probably be packing and freaking out about all the stuff I'm going to forget. Not the best time to chuck everything and go see a show. It'll be a great venue for them, though.

...and those that don't are linked from the sketch title to some other site, mostly.
