  1. ^ Is that yellow bit of track in the middle a jump or something? How did that work? edit: Now that I looked at the picture at full size ... looks like some kind of see-saw, right?
  2. It's a great album if you don't compare it to the rest of their work. I think "I'm Gonna Crawl" and "Carouselambra" really drag it down. The latter would have been a good song at around five minutes, but ten-and-a-half is far more than anyone needed.
  3. Love had at least three albums after Forever Changes. Granted, those were basically just Arthur Lee albums, but still. Didn't the Stooges release a new one last year?
  4. A lot of the best have already been mentioned, but here are twenty more great ones that haven't yet gotten their due: Spoon - A Series of Sneaks The Jesus & Mary Chain - Darklands Ted Leo / Pharmacists - The Tyranny of Distance Randy Newman - 12 Songs Neko Case - Furnace Room Lullaby Jackson Browne - For Everyman Traffic - Traffic The Beautiful South - Choke Graham Parker - Heat Treatment Billy Bragg - Brewing Up With Billy Bragg The Pernice Brothers - The World Won't End Television - Adventure Steely Dan - Countdown to Ecstasy Camper Van Beethoven - II & III Gillian Welch - Hell Amo
  5. ^ Kool-Aid tasted better out of one of those.
  6. If you're using Windows, just right-click the file, choose Rename, and fix the capitalization. In my experience, Windows can be a little weird about such minor changes to filenames, so you may need to add another character temporarily, then go back and remove it (which is a major pain in the butt, but oh well). Pretty much, yeah.
  7. I think you might still be able to get these, but I hadn't thought about them in many years. Also, I had the blue version of this: ^ That's not a great image ... it's a "tracer gun," that shot little plastic discs, and if you rotated the barrel slightly the discs would curve. I loved this thing.
  8. I stood several feet behind the table once while they were administering that "challenge" at a local mall, and they'd occasionally switch the bottles when tasters indicated Coke as their preference. I've been pretty cynical about those kinds of statistics ever since.
  9. ^ All I see is "I (heart) RetroJunk.com" There have been several of those in this thread.
  10. That is a thing indeed. Mine had a red-white-and-blue (flag-striped) banana seat that I loved but now seems kind of ridiculous. The frame was spray-painted gold. My brother's was especially badass: Schwinn Sting-Ray, a sort of bronze color, red banana seat, extra long sissy bar, "chopper" handlebars, flat-tread "racing slick" back tire -- that thing was the shit.
  11. Yup, had the same issue. FLAC Frontend has a few such quirks (it doesn't handle weird characters very well either).
  12. I'm guessing that's the "basement." ...or the pit where it puts the lotion on its skin, or something.
  13. I was a bit of a NASCAR fan when I was a kid. Funny how that didn't continue into adulthood.
  14. 15. (the restaurant, not the cup) Also:
  16. Did they think your band was Wilco or something?
