I think it's only one octave, but yeah, it's definitely a better song the way he sings it now.

He should get one of those black Jimmy Page suits. Or not.

I thought they were great. Someone hit a sour note near the beginning of "Hate It Here" (someone in the horn section, I think), but aside from that it was a good performance. I also was pleasantly surprised with how the song selection worked out. I wouldn't have chosen "Walken," but thought it turned out just fine. "Hate It Here," to me, was an obvious choice because they had the horn section in tow. Since the first time I heard them (on a Residency recording), the horns kicking in for the chorus have given me chills. Yeah, sure, I probably would have picked two other songs if it were up t

How does one twist a testicle? Was he trying to pivot, planted his testicle, and lost his "footing"? I just don't get this one. article (last paragraph)

Founded the band X. He's a legend. You won't regret seeing him. He's also a sometime actor.

I really didn't expect Lance Briggs to re-sign with the Bears, but I'm glad he did. Briggs agrees to six-year contract with Bears By Larry Mayer, chicagobears.com LAKE FOREST, Ill.

Well, I tried to nab some tickets to see the White Sox at Comerica Park, but the Tigers ticketing system is completely overloaded. It took me 25 minutes just to get out of the "virtual waiting room," and then it still wasn't processing ticket requests ... by the time I got one to go through, there were no seats left for what I wanted. FUCK!

Any Way to Find Out if there Will be a Surprise NYC show tonight?
cryptique replied to mosey threetupu's topic in Just A Fan
It would have to be very late-night if it happened at all, because I think there's a full-length SNL dress rehearsal earlier in the evening. My guess is no. -
It may well be, but don't let that prevent you from acquiring the audience recordings from all five nights. The ones I've heard (multiple versions for most nights) are all very good.

From Wikipedia: So it wasn't just Samberg, but Samberg plus his buddies from L.A., plus Parnell.
-
I'm not a Samberg fan either, but I think Lazy Sunday was mostly his doing.
-
Samberg's best moment is still "Lazy Sunday" or whatever the "Chronic -- what? -cles of Narnia" thing was called (with Chris Parnell).

My brother and sister-in-law were further back, I think near the middle (I don't know the 9:30 layout), and they said the sound was fantastic ... so I guess it depends where you were, as it often does.

I could really go for a Big Kahuna burger and some Sprite right about now.
-
The irony of the situation, concerning his responses to my responses to his responses (etc.), is that he's not even the poster I was referencing way back when I went off. He's just the one who chose to respond. We didn't see much more from the other bomb-throwers, and I can't say I'm surprised.

watch me fall gets to invite 30 people, so...

Except for you. You can have your own special Wilco living room show, complete with a Pat Sansone lap dance.
-
Me too. With all the whining going on, I'm beginning to think Charleston doesn't deserve a Wilco show anyway.

She was part of the Annoyance Theater's original production of The Real Live Brady Bunch in Chicago, and that's what vaulted her to SNL. But yeah, beyond her Jan Brady, there wasn't much there.

article Dave Clark Five singer Mike Smith dies of pneumonia LONDON (AP) -- Dave Clark Five lead singer Mike Smith died of pneumonia Thursday, less than two weeks before the band is to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was 64. Smith died at a hospital outside of London, his agent Margo Lewis said. He was admitted to the intensive care unit Wednesday morning with a chest infection, a complication from a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed below the ribcage with limited use of his upper body. Lewis said he was injured when he fell from a fence at his home in Spain

I live next door to her twin sister. Amy may not know she has a twin sister in Michigan, but trust me, she does. A twin sister with four kids, but still.

I've thought that for years (about AGIB), though I've been revisiting it lately. Having heard most of those songs live many times now, it's taking on some new life for me. Though my opinion of it is improving, I think it's still lodged in the basement compared to their other records.
