  1. Couldn't have said it better myself. The love this band gets has always astounded me.
  2. I've heard "What Light" and "Shake It Off" on a local station.
  3. I think you misspelled "worst." ...but I still like it.
  4. As has already been pointed out, this has already been discussed here -- EXHAUSTIVELY -- in multiple threads. You should probably avoid reading the still-smoldering "More on the controversy" thread in this same forum ... 45 pages and counting, and that wasn't even the first thread on the subject.
  5. You're thinking of NC-17. Or, of course, XXX.
  6. That's one unwritten rule I don't much care for.
  7. Sometimes I think parenting should only be allowed with some kind of license. To drive a car, you have to pass a test ... but any asshat can produce offspring.
  8. How is it shady? If a guy is able to lay down a good bunt and beat the throw, then why shouldn't he try it? If that's not "earning" your way on base, I don't know what is. I'm all about etiquette -- I don't believe in showing up the pitcher after a home run, for example -- but that's an extracurricular, not-in-the-box-score kind of thing. A bunt single is just that: a single, and something that could spark a rally and affect the outcome of a game. If your team needs a baserunner, why is it "shady" to lay one down? And why is the need for baserunners any less in a 10-0 game than a 1-0 game?
  9. Fuck 'em. It's nobody's duty to lay down for a pitcher just because he's about to complete a no-hitter or perfect game. I don't care if it was 1-0 or 10-0 -- if you can get yourself on base somehow, do it, whether it's a bunt or whatever. Otherwise, who cares about a no-hitter/perfect game? I mean, if the other team is actually collaborating in some way, why is it even an achievement?
  10. The gun hit 102 on a pitch in the ninth inning.
  11. It does, actually. There was only one -- Cy Young's.

  13. But they're living just to find emotion. And hiding. Somewhere in the night.
  14. Streetlight people. Whatever the fuck that means.
  15. Work faster! Welcome to the board, by the way.
  16. So, if Eckstein is "scrappy" rather than "gritty," what was Lenny Dykstra?
  17. Christgau is the very definition of a "pretentious tweet." That said, I often enjoy his writing.
  18. I'd like to send that guy to the far northeast side of Chicago.
  19. I bet there was never such an exchange on any Journey message board.
  20. Nothing wrong with it ... I like both songs. But they do tend to evoke negative reactions among certain factions...
  21. You swapped the current holder of the title of "most despised Wilco song" for the previous one.
  22. If nothing else, the soundtrack would be fantastic.
