  1. Shut your festering gob, you tit! Your type really makes me puke, you vacuous, coffee-nosed, malodorous pervert!
  2. It got my vote. It sounded like a bit of a throwaway the first time I heard it, but it's grown on me more than any other song on the record, and is now my favorite.
  3. Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
  4. ...what a long, strange trip it's been...
  5. ...I bought on the day it came out, or maybe the next day. ...was a pleasant surprise to me, because it confirmed that Jeff Tweedy was continuing his career post-Uncle Tupelo. ...is criminally underrated by lots of people on this board.
  6. ...sucked like few albums had ever sucked before. Amazingly, the band only got worse from there.
  7. It's my favorite song on the record... ...and you sure know how to make friends online. Nice work.
  8. I'm pleasantly surprised to see that I'm not the only person who voted for the song I chose.
  9. Good luck. I wish I could be there. (I couldn't figure out how to mention this without ... you know, mentioning it. So I opted to be vague.)
  10. Yup. A great loudfasthooky record. Their next one didn't have a single track with that kind of energy, which really bummed me out.
  11. I switched my shortcut to oink.cd a few days ago and haven't had any problem.
  12. So apparently it would be a good idea to be one of the first 150 people to buy the new album at Amoeba in L.A. tomorrow.
  13. I happen to think that "What Light" is the worst song on the record, so no, I don't think he was fucking with us in that way. Maybe he was fucking with us in making "What Light" the leadoff single.
  14. I plowed through these two on vacation a couple weeks ago and enjoyed both: ... been looking through my shelves to decide what to read next.
  15. Desperately trying to overcome a case of the Mondays.

    Hate It Here

My guess is that it's a phrase with a double meaning -- the literal meaning of him doing the housekeeping, and a metaphorical meaning with a twist on the phrase "you made your bed, now you have to lie in it." Ergo, it makes more sense to use "my" than "our." Of course, I'm probably overanalyzing, but now that I've been forced to think about it, I appreciate that lyric just a bit more.
  17. I agree (sadly) about Moby Grape ... their debut was amazing, but the rest of their stuff hasn't grabbed me. Regarding Television, though ... no love for Adventure? To my mind, that album is just a small notch below Marquee Moon, which is to say, excellent.
  18. Their debut, Make Your Mama Proud, was a masterpiece (in my opinion). I still listen to that record pretty often. I was extremely disappointed by All the Pain Money Can Buy, but the two albums they put out after that were pretty good. Huh. This is the first time I thought about your screen name long enough to figure out its origin. Cool.
  19. The premise of this thread, in my opinion, is incorrect.
  20. ...disappointed me on first listen, and still hasn't recovered.
