  1. Yeah, it seems like most buttons are gone, or stripped of their text, along with some other stuff (e.g., the text in the list of threads that identifies the last post in a thread has having been entered today). Fortunately, the board is still functional on a basic level ... but wow.
  2. Sorry, but what? What, exactly, do you mean? Olbermann is about the only talking head in the mainstream media who has the courage to say such things, and you're taking him to task for being "self absorbed and superfluous"?
  3. Seems to be based on, or inspired by, the program in my hometown -- the Kalamazoo Promise.
  4. Those are postcount-dependent.

  6. From Salon.com today... Even the lawlessness was lawless The Department of Justice maintains published standards for clemency orders like the one George W. Bush gave Scooter Libby Monday. Under those standards, a request for commutation is supposed to go the Department of Justice's "pardon attorney," who "initiates and directs the necessary investigations and prepares a report and recommendation for submission to the president in every case." As part of those "necessary investigations," the pardon attorney "routinely requests the United States Attorney in the district of conviction to pr
  7. Previously I'd only known the song "Don't Look Back" from these guys (from the Nuggets collection). This 2007 reissue is really good.
  8. I would comment, but I don't feel like spouting that much profanity this early in the morning.
  9. First of all, it's "moot," and second, we are not doing this again -- hopefully. Feel free to go back and read the threads where this has been argued exhaustively, but leave it at that. This territory was fully consumed long ago.
  10. Will turn 39 in a month and a half, w00t.
  11. Hey, little dolly with the blue jeans on I wanna ramrod with you honey, till half-past dawn Let your hair down sugar and pick up this beat Come on and meet me tonight down on Bluebird Street I've been working all week, I'm up to my neck in hock Come Saturday night I let my ramrod rock She's a hot stepping hemi with a four on the floor She's a roadrunner engine in a '32 Ford Late at night when I'm dead on the line I swear I think of your pretty face when I let her unwind Well look over yonder see them city lights Come on little dolly 'n' go ramroddin' tonight Come on, come on, come on littl
  12. If only we had a place online where we could post such things...
  13. I say we do it, on the condition that at some point during the interview, when Jeff's taking time to answer a question, the interviewer says "OMG just answer the question, you highy messed-up freak!"
  14. Speaking of Access Rose, is that new GNR album ever coming out, or what?
  15. I might give a shit if I could stand Smashing Pumpkins. Then again, I might not. Lots of bands do this these days ... this is a pretty big overreaction, if you ask me.
  16. I'm finally listening to this for the first time today, even though I grabbed it days ago. Wow, this is a fantastic record so far. I haven't heard anything even approaching a dud yet. "Resurrection Fern" is blowing my mind at the moment. This may be my favorite track yet, though it's really hard to choose.
  17. We're talking about tracks, not songs. "Slow Hearse" is the first track. Yes, I'm just being a jerk regarding a technicality.
  18. Yeah, those venue sizes seem rather out of whack, but what do I know, maybe there's a huge goth revival underway in the nation's high schools. I'd consider going to see them if they played places like, say, the State Theater in Detroit, or the Michigan Theater here in Ann Arbor. Of course, I don't see a Michigan date there at all.
  19. There are black people in Canada? I know, but someone had to ask the question.
