  1. "Da Da Da" by Trio on endless loop. I actually kind of like that song, but after a couple of minutes it makes me want to grab a pair of pliers and start ripping out my own teeth.
  2. I saw that on the news last week -- WGN or maybe CNN, probably the former. Big-time alumnus vibes from me.
  3. I told a guy from Texas to go fuck himself, and he said he would but it was against the law. Texas elected W. as governor, and then Perry -- maybe they don't feel they need any help fucking themselves. Texans saw a few 6" dildos and knew they had to ban them immediately, because they knew they could never measure up. In Texas, dildos don't fuck people -- people do.
  4. I'll have to check out his new one. I definitely recommend this one, which is also my NP:
  5. Me too. Not a bad track on this one, and the production has been scaled back a bit to let the songs breathe, which was badly needed after the last couple of albums. Maybe the band's best outing yet! Rich, how's that Neal Casal? I listen to Fade Away Diamond Time pretty often, but haven't investigated much of the rest of his catalogue.
  6. It's hard to suck up stale bread. Maybe if you broke it up a bit?
  7. Because the ownership doesn't have to worry about fielding a winning team so long as everyone regards that stadium as sacred -- it'll sell out for virtually every game regardless of the quality of the onfield product. Build a new stadium and you force the team to earn its fans. I know, it's a crappy reason to demolish Wrigley, but nothing else they've tried has worked.
  8. I could do it, but Cubs fans wouldn't like it much. First task: knock down Wrigley. I love the place, but I'm convinced that they'll never win a World Series as long as they still play there. Of course, I thought the same thing about the Red Sox and Fenway, so I'm clearly an idiot.
  9. Love that record. I saw them touring on Dust Bunnies and they were great. NP:
  10. Football sure is fun when the Bears are playing this well. I have no doubt that they'll lose a few, but their schedule isn't that formidable. November will be a tough month -- home against the Dolphins (maybe not as tough as it looked a few weeks ago) and then three straight road games against the Giants, Jets, and Patriots. If they can go 2-2 over that stretch I think a 13-3 season is possible, but I'm thinking 11-5 may be more realistic. The Bears always seem to find a way to lose a couple of squeakers here and there.
  11. And that's an obstacle because ... ? Missed opportunity, twobobs. Don't let it happen again.
  12. Damn. Of all the Saved By the Bell cast members to make a sex tape, why couldn't it have been Elizabeth Berkley? Oh. Wait.
  13. Personal, clearly. Look for the little orange square next to the thread title. I never look at those folders anyway. Also: I voted.
  14. Anybody left on that pitching staff? Who's your "ace" now, Trachsel? Hmmmm.
  15. I've never been a huge Mad TV fan, though I would agree that it's better than SNL these days. The truly funny moments from last season's SNL could probably be compiled into an hour-long program, with commercials. So you haven't been missing much, but there has been the occasional gem.
  16. Not total garbage. It definitely had its moments last year. The problem is, those moments have gotten to be few and far between.
  17. What, are they holding open tryouts?
  18. I'll admit to a fair amount of Schadenfreude concerning the Tigers' choke job. Yeah, they still get to go to the postseason (and my White Sox don't), but to blow a division lead like theirs and lose it completely on the last day of the season after getting swept by the second-worst team in baseball (who probably would have been the worst if not for the sweep) has got to leave a bad taste in the mouths of Tigers fans. Not as bad as what I'm dealing with (six games out in the end ... damn), but still bad, right?
  19. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but I don't like a lot of what's been going on with NFL uniforms over the past several years. When I was first getting into football in the '70s, teams wore their dark unis at home with different-colored (lighter) pants, and white unis on the road with darker pants (the one exception: the Cowboys, who wore white uniforms nearly every game). Now teams are going dark-on-dark or white-on-white, and I think it looks like crap -- all of it. Also, this fascination with black uniforms needs to stop. The Ravens have the ugliest uniforms in football. The Falcons were muc
  20. ...and here we have what's really going on here. If Dane Cook weren't wildly popular -- much of that popularity coming from frat boys -- this thread wouldn't even exist. I'll admit it: half the reason I don't like the Dave Matthews Band is because of the kind of people who seem to make up his fanbase (mostly frat boys, at least where I come from). The other half is because I don't care for his music -- but an obnoxious following is a really hard thing to get past. I saw a Dane Cook special (I think it was a full hour) on Comedy Central a few years ago that was very, very funny. That was be
  21. Despite not being anywhere near the demographic at which his material is aimed, I like him. Or at least, I liked the first round of material he did about three or four years ago, which was very funny. His more recent stuff hasn't been quite that sharp, and I'm sure as hell not seeing that movie he's in. I guess I don't see why there has to be a whole hate thread dedicated to him. If you don't like him, ignore him.
  22. I'm back, bitches. And I'm tired. It was a good vacation though. So, what'd I miss?
  23. So long y'all ... check back in with you in a week. If someone could take notes on the RTT and provide me with a pr
  24. Wow. I turn the game off, and Notre Dame comes back and wins it. Oh well. I hate both teams, so I guess it doesn't matter much to me in the end. I just hate ND more.
