I remember listening to some of his stuff a few years back. I believe he died a couple years ago.

I hate what NBC has done in past years too, but so far I would note: 1. Much of what I watched this afternoon was live. Long-track speed-skating, for example. 2. So far I've seen VERY little idiotic puff. Perhaps we're not to that part of the games yet, but they seem to have minimized this crap, at least for today's events.

Again... Probably not his absolute best, but a very solid record. I've enjoyed it a bit more with each listen.

There's no religious significance to it whatsoever, but my girlfriend gives up something every year. This year she's planning to go vegan during Lent (she's already vegetarian). Inspired by her example, I'm going to use Lent as a convenient motivator to try to get 100% back on track with the good eating that helped me lose a bunch of weight last year. I've kind of let that slip in recent months, and it's time to re-focus.

It's been a long time since I've heard "Take Off" but I seem to recall him having a higher-than-average speaking voice (big surprise).

"Glee" is pretty much a fart with prime-time exposure, so I guess that's appropriate.

It's all in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. That lineup's one big yawn to me. There's a (very) small number of acts I'd like to see, but I'd rather see them play their own shows instead of festival sets.

After greedily consuming the whole series via Netflix, I bought us the complete box set for Christmas. We haven't watched any of it yet, but we're looking forward to immersing ourselves in it again.

I hate the talking baby commercials, and have from day one.

Next year they'll have some American Idol auditions during halftime, and let the crowd vote the contestants up or down. Ugh. I'm really sorry my brain even thought of that.

Judging from the ticket prices I just saw for his upcoming show here, apparently Ray Davies needs money. Maybe he can convince his brother to play a one-off Kinks reunion at next year's game.

I doubt it was live. They didn't show Daltrey on TV at that point, and normally you'd figure they would have a closeup on him as the scream happened ... so I just figured it had been pre-recorded.
