I love this: It's uncanny, I know

As a Bears fan, I'm not sure how I feel about this... Source: Weis interested in Bears job A source close to Charlie Weis confirmed that the former Notre Dame coach would be interested in the Bears' offensive coordinator position if it were to become available after this season. Ron Turner holds that job with the Bears, though the offense's poor performance and quarterback Jay Cutler's struggles have led to speculation that the Bears will dump Turner. Here's the original article from the Chicago Sun Times The Bears definitely need to dump Turner, and Weis has an excellent track record

I didn't catch any Dexter-is-arrested stuff in the previews, but the cuts in those are so swift that I easily could have missed it. They sure did provide a hell of a setup for the season finale. I'm even beginning to wonder whether Trinity could survive into next season, and he and Dexter continue to circle each other for a while. Each now has the power to destroy the other, and it'd be fascinating to watch how that situation would eventually resolve.

Grace in her prime was really something.

Sometimes it's better to remain obscure
cryptique replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
These people need to be subjected to the worst possible punishment for those of their ilk: a swift return to obscurity. -
I had the privilege of seeing Liam play here several years ago, and he was brilliant. A very warm and engaging personality, and a great singer and musician. RIP, Liam.

Aw man. They had Johnny Clegg there, and I missed it! He played "Scatterlings of Africa." Love me some Juluka!

More realistic scenario: use your 1982 Duran Duran calendar, and paste pictures of Wilco onto it.

England - U.S. should be a good match. I expect England to win (or at worst, somehow allow the U.S. to draw them), but no matter the result, I hope Landon Donovan kicks Beckham right in the sack.
-
I know the draw is (supposedly) random and all, but the results almost seem like the world decided to say "Hey North Korea! Fuck you!" I think the U.S. got off easy. England's trouble, of course, but they should match up pretty well against Algeria and Slovenia.

Christ, FIFA, can we just get ON with it already? Draw some fucking groups, stop wanking around.

Gonna have to agree with that. Not a bad band all in all, but good god, that name.

Between this and Get Fuzzy, my comic strip needs are largely served. (Add Achewood, xkcd, and A Softer World to complete the list.) This is pretty close to what my own list would look like.

I can't think of any band names that make me uncomfortable. However, I could probably come up with a short list of names that make me angry.

We all saw it coming, and now (reportedly) it's official: Weis is out

I've been staying away from this thread for the most part, but I didn't see this posted by anyone else, so... The tone of this article isn't helpful, but the information is. See original article for links to supporting material. Seven Answers to Climate Contrarian Nonsense Evidence for human interference with Earth's climate continues to accumulate By John Rennie On November 18, with the United Nations Global Warming Conference in Copenhagen fast approaching, U.S. Senator James R. Inhofe (R-Okla.) took the floor of the Senate and proclaimed 2009 to be "The Year of the Skeptic." Had

I was in the used market so I wouldn't know for sure -- but in 2007 when I was buying a used 2004 Accord, EX models with similar mileage were about $2,000 to $3,000 more expensive on average than the LX models. And besides the moon roof and extra stereo controls, there really isn't a significant difference between those models. The leather seats come with the V6, I think ... at least in the '04 Accords.
-
Not if that stuff's important to you. I do kinda want a moon roof someday, but not on my current budget.
-
I can't really tell who each spud represents, but I'm not sure that's important.
-
I had an analogous experience when buying my used Accord ... I had already decided that I didn't want that stuff (which constitutes most of the difference between the LX and EX models), but my salesman said something similar to me about people paying more for the sun roof and silly extra stereo buttons.

Interesting teaser for the next episode. So Trinity will learn Dexter's true identity and show up at the station. Hmmm. How many episodes are left in this season? Can't be more than three or four, right?
-
No, you're right ... I'm an idiot.
-
Um ... yeah, what's your point?

The Beatles released a USB drive with the full stereo box set in FLAC and 320-kbps MP3. It was a limited edition ... not sure if any more of these are available.
