  1. I do happen to agree with this part, there was something pretty cool about the band playing a show in Mobile, Alabama, the night of the Grammy's in 2005. And my heart goes out to fans of the band in Charleston, SC (once when David Crosby was playing a show in my hometown, Charleston, West Virginia, he famously said "it sure is great to be in South Carolina" but that is neither here nor there), I think this could have been handled a little better by the management and the venue (i.e. getting information about this out sooner, but it sounds like this SNL thing was very last minute). So yeah it s
  2. First of all I loved the Cracked article, great stuff. In terms of the Chili cookoff I could see Nixon having people break into the other president's houses and stealing their recipes beforehand, and therefore kicking ass the cookoff. However, I'm sure someone would catch wind of this and confront Tricky Dicky leading him to say "I'm a not a cook." Or something along those lines... --Mike
  3. I think I might have to pick up Revolutionary Road now, after reading a little more about it. --Mike
  4. One of my favorite boots, great show, excellent set. Not For The Season is particularly kicking. --Mike
  5. Yeah I saw that a few months ago on campus, my creative writing class studied Carver last fall, I thought it was excellent. I loved Tom Waits in it. --Mike
  6. The setlist has Too Far Apart listed in between Via Chicago and I'm Always in Love. --Mike
  7. I'm going to guess 2000, I'd be stunned if they ever hit six from that one post-Bennett before the last couple of weeks, though I'm sure Jeff has hit at least six several times in his solo shows. Interesting to see I am Trying To Break Your Heart off the set list, they actually have gone four straight shows without playing, that has to be the first time that's happened since it's debut. --Mike
  8. Hmm... I didn't even know that page was there, and wilcobase is probably one of my most visited websites. Learn something new everyday . --Mike
  9. Wilco Base: Everytime Played You can pretty much find info on the debut of every song on this page. --Mike
  10. Sorry I missed this post, but I love it as well, it's wonderful and quite possibly my favorite as well. This one is next up for me. --Mike
  11. I, too, picked up that disc earlier this year and had virtually the same reaction. It's a hell of an album. --Mike
  12. They also might do The Late Greats after this. --Mike
  13. I'm thinking they ride the drone into Spiders to close off the set. --Mike
  14. Donna told me that one time she was talking with Jeff's dad at a show, and Mr. Tweedy took Jeff riverboat gambling and Jeff lost some money and his Dad talked him into writing a song about it. I don't know if it's true, but it's a great story. --Mike
  15. They used to let Ken solo in that breakdown. --Mike
  16. I don't think they ever do Red Eyed and Blue without it leading into I Got You
  17. No this is just song 27, and they still have to do Less Than You Think. --Mike
