Now... Earlier and (Smog: Doctor Came At Dawn) --Mike

Yeah, everything on Born Again in the USA is quite good. The Ruling Class is excellent. I love Wanted. O'Rourke's songs are top notch. I think I like the first one better by just a bit, but they're both wonderful records. This was actually brought up a couple of times, but I did make a mix of the Tweedy songs from Born Again in the USA and some of my favorite tracks from Sky Blue Sky, and while it sounded pretty good, I found myself missing the O'Rourke tracks quite a bit, and I'd often just end up listening to Born Again. --Mike

I actually think it might be Leroy on Hesistating Beauty. If I remember correctly, Jeff played acoustic on this song and Bach played electric. The parts certainly sound more like Leroy's style, and by this point Jorgensen had keyboards with his rig. I seem to remember Leroy playing lead guitar on this song even in the Bennett days, as well. --Mike

That's"Life Goes Off" from Jim O'Rourke's album Insignificance. --Mike

This actually doesn't quite work, as it's entered into Wilcobase whichever way whomever took down the song in the setlist wrote it so while they usually play the rock version, Outtasite (Outtamind), if someone who doesn't know which one is which (like yours truly) and copies it down Outtamind (Outtasite), that's how it's entered. To the best of my knowledge the only time it's been played in the Disc Two arrangement is the Residency. --Mike

I was just listening to this the other day, I probably spin it a lot more than SBS at this point. I can't get enough of Wreckroom. --Mike

I'm pretty happy with WVU's seven seed and I'd like our chances against the Blue Devils, if we can get past Arizona. I like the way our bracket looks. --Mike

I think all three of them have added a lot to Tweedy's songs. In terms of a songwriting partner, Bennett was crucial, I feel, to Jeff's development and co-wrote a good chunk of the band's best material and was all over two of their best records YHF and Summerteeth. I think where Jay may have limited Tweedy a bit, Jim O'Rourke came in and pushed him in some other very interesting directions and I think the Tweedy/O'Rourke/Kotche collaborations-- Not For The Season, Chinese Apple, Wreckroom, Wanted, The Ruling Class-- are also excellent. Live, Nels additions to some of the band's classic composi

How To Fight into Not For The Season is my favorite as well, and in fact the 2002-2003 version of Not For The Season is probably my favorite live Wilco song of any era period. The Poor Places > Reservations > I Am Trying To Break Your Heart > War on War suite that the band did in the later 2003 shows is sublime as well. And I am a huge fan of Misunderstood > Far Far Away as well. --Mike

This is actually just a bootleg, the Beatles never intended any record to actually come out in this configuration. Old Brown Shoe wasn't even written until 1969 a year after these other songs were released. And poor as their quality control may have been on the White Album, I'm pretty sure no matter how strong the weed they weed they were smoking they'd have never thought about actually releasing Brian Epstein's Blues. --Mike

Sorry I should have clarified, I was talking about Aeroplane Over The Sea. --Mike

I've yet to regret seeking out anything you've plugged on the board so far, Pop Todd. I'll check these guys out. --Mike

I've been listening to this one a lot lately. I had a couple of Townes songs for awhile "Pancho and Lefty" and the cover of "Dead Flowers" on the Big Lebowski soundtrack, but hadn't really sought him out until earlier this year. Our Mother reminds a bit of Astral Weeks, it's a great album. --Mike

Yeah, I am not a Huggins fan by any means, but John Beilein (who was a wonderful coach and a good guy as well) went to Michigan. Bob Huggins does have an impressive on the court resume-- off the court well there was the DUI, the fact that he doesn't graduate players, and he's a bit of a prick. --Mike

The Beach Boys versions of Smile are superior, I listen to the Purple Chick version and various bootlegs a lot more than the 2004 release. --Mike

It was recorded at a home studio in Denver, Colorado, I believe. --Mike

Congrats to the Mountaineers, I think they were a little more deserving last year (at least pre-UConn win), but it looks like they're definitely in this year. --Mike

When I got this summer, I tried to read about 100 pages a day, and eventually made it through the whole thing in about three weeks. It's overwhelming at times, but it's worth the effort. --Mike

I never really gave them much thought until I heard Jon Brion cover Boys Are Back in Town on a KCRW show, there's something so incredibly refreshing about the conversational nature lyrics of that song. It inspired me to check out some of their records, and I really enjoy them. Jailbreak is certainly worth grabbing, and I like Bad Reputation a lot as well. --Mike

I feel the same way. I love Nels Cline and he's one of the most intriguing musicians I've ever seen in a live setting. He's amazing on Kicking Television, and there are some songs on Sky Blue Sky where I think he's perfect. That said I think that lineup complemented each other amazingly well. Tweedy's guitar playing is so emotive, expressive and unpredictable and Leroy could play pretty much everything and always added excellent parts to every song, John is a wonderful bass player, Mike's additions were always quite interesting, and Glenn Kotche is one of the greatest drummers in rock history.

Appalachian . They'd revoke my West Virginia citizenship if I didn't know how to spell that. Anyway, this sounds right up my alley, I'll have to check them out. I saw them on your top twenty albums list and I try to make a point to at least google any record I see on those that I don't recognize. --Mike
