It's obviously hard to tell as it's in black and white, but I think Leroy is playing a teal Telecaster in that particular sequence, that Jeff used to play on some of the songs on 2000 tour in support of Mermaid Avenue 2. It's been awhile since I've seen it though, I'll have to go back and check it out. I feel the same way as you do about it, if only had the cash I'd certainly be willing make a bid on that. --Mike

I can set you up with the 9/19 if you'd like, PM if you're interested. The 9/19 and 9/20 are probably my favorites. I also highly recommend pretty much any soundboard from the Bach/Jorgensen era. The July 4, 2001 show (Jay's last) is wonderful. The 4/20 and 4/21/1999 soundboards from Irving Plaza are excellent if you're a fan of the Summerteeth era. Obviously all of the Residency shows are worth checking out and there are several great shows from the Ghost tour if I had to pick one I'd go with the 2/26/2005 Kalmazoo show or the 7-16-2006 Pines Show from Florence, MA. --Mike

On previous boards I posted on I could be essentially an immature punk or assholic at times, and I wasn't interested in doing that here and using my actual name helps keep me honest. I had a pretty similar journey with A Ghost is Born. When AGIB came out, Wilco was just starting to become my favorite band. I remember hearing some of the songs :Muzzle of Bees, Spiders, At Least That's What You Said, at the very first Wilco concert I went to in Pittsburgh in 2003. I left that show thinking "this next record is going to be amazing." A year later, I saw the new lineup play most of it at Bonnaroo a few weeks before it came out, and felt the same way. I usually say something along the lines of "like the Beatles, Dylan and Neil Young they go through different styles with each record." I get about halfway through an explanation of alt-country and then try to get myself to a computer as fast as possible so I can just play them some songs. --Mike

Yeah, I have regretted missing that show for the last several years. I had to leave during the second of the day of Bonnaroo that year because I was doing a week long service project with my high school and it started that Sunday. I didn't want to try to navigate my way out of there at night (the place was like a maze), so I took off after Grandaddy's set that Saturday. I did finally get to see MMJ in Louisville last year, and they were excellent. --Mike

Even though the singer does sound uncannily like Jim James, the band's music isn't a carbon copy of My Morning Jacket or Band of Horses for that matter. I hear Grizzly Bear, Fairport Convention, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, the quieter side of the White Album, The Incredible String Band. So far both the EP and the LP are my favorites of the year. --Mike

I have Major Organ but have only listened to it couple of times, parts of it were quite good, but I need to revisit it. Jittery Joes is a nice show, but the video that comes with it isn't of the best quality. There are some great bootlegs here, particularly the 4/12/1998 Bottom of the Hill show Neutral Milk Hotel Bootlegs --Mike

Yeah, he's a real treat to see live. The past couple of years my father and I have gone down to Merlefest, the concert he puts on in North Carolina, and I've caught several of his sets. Lammycat and Mountainbed hit the nail on the head with their comments. --Mike

Yeah, I love it. I actually found out about these guys at Bonnaroo in 2004, I hadn't really heard of them, but almost everyone I ran into was talking about how great they were and they played a live version of One Big Holiday a lot in between sets. I ended up missing their set, but I picked up It Still Moves on my way out. --Mike
