Hahaha, brilliant analogy. They are apparently doing Nothing'severgonnastandinmyawayagain at the moment, and they did Can't Stand It, again. --Mike

Wow, I never thought this one would see the light post-Bennett. --Mike

Well they had to do it. --Mike

Ah, must have been a mistake on the website. There have been a lot of surprises over the last couple of nights, but I'd have been stunned if they were doing that one.

Holy shit, according to Twitter they are doing Alone (Shaking Sugar)! --Mike

I'll hopefully be downloading both of the shows today, if you don't mind waiting I can set you up. --Mike

Yeah, that's one of my favorite boots. That shift Kotche makes on the percussion is so excellent. I'd also really like to hear them do Poor Places into Reservations into I Am Trying To Break Your Heart into War on War like they used to on the later YHF tour dates. It always sounded amazing. --Mike

Yeah I would love to hear Not For The Season with this lineup. In terms of the band playing Bennett songs, Jeff wrote the lyrics and I think the vocal melody to Cars Can't Escape, Jay took a couple of songs he and Jeff co-wrote that didn't make Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, but he wasn't the only songwriter on any of those songs. I've heard Jay claim My Darling for himself a lot, but the lyrics are still credited to Jeff, has Tweedy ever said anything about the song? --Mike

Great points and I am also really pulling for More Like The Moon. --Mike

Is A Woman is wonderful, I've yet to successfully track down a copy of Nixon, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled. --Mike

I Must Be High would be great, but I love I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, The Late Greats and Misunderstood as openers. I'd really like to see it be something no one expects like What's The World Got In Store in the YHF-tour ending 2003 shows. --Mike

Hodie, your (and pneynu's) constant praise of Mr. Jon Brion inspired me to further delve into his music and for that I am eternally grateful. Hope you have a wonderful birthday. --Mike

This one is wonderful, and I third the recommendation of Axxess and Ace. --Mike

I got this record the summer I graduated high school, and along with A Ghost is Born it really helped me get through a couple of very trying emotional experiences. When I first heard it I was pretty underwhelmed, it had been one of my top Amazon recommendations for about a year, and I finally bought it. But I couldn't stand Mangum's voice and I thought the lyrics were just way too strange. But for some reason I'd always keep playing it, I instinctively knew eventually it was going to click and then it did in a big way. It's without a doubt one of the three or four records that completely did m

Bragg and Wilco have played together a couple of times on late night television. They did California Stars on Letterman and Conan, and Secret of the Sea on Letterman. These aren't up on Youtube, but they are on one of JHamm's DVD's. --Mike

I was listening to the self-titled Wednesday, I love these guys quite a bit, I probably listen to their records just as much as I listen to Wilco these days. Anyway I'm not sure I see Nels only being a short-term member, this lineup seems pretty stable and a lot of the politicing/band members getting canned seemed to leave with Bennett, yeah I know Leroy left in 2004, but that seemed to be of his own accord. However, I thought the Bach/Jorgensen lineup was going to last for a long time too. What I really wanted to see was a Tweedy/O'Rourke/Bach/Jorgensen/Kotche/Stirratt lineup. Jim was a pre

Thanks for the advice (all three of you), I seem to remember writing Nixon down on my list of things to check out (which is slightly shorter than the Bible..). I have one song from Damaged, I think it's The Decline of Country and Western Civilization, it has the lyric about Jim Neighbors in it. Anyway these guys have an amazing sound, I'm happy I finally sought them out. --Mike
