This one hit pretty hard with me too, I listen to Skinny Love, at least twice a day. Right up there with Marissa Nadler and Radiohead as my album of the year. --Mike

It's okay kidsmoke, last time I checked my state wasn't governed by the star of Junior . Interesting side note, last year when I was buying The Crane Wife at the Charleston Circuit City I bumped into our governor, Joe Manchin. He was there buying a radio and standing in the check out line. I said hello and shook his hand (because he is both Catholic and a Democrat, my grandmother has declared him the second-coming of JFK, he's probably not even Teddy-level yet, so I had to at least say something to him so I could tell this story). Anyway, he checked out in front of me and than I came up in th

Yeah it's a recording of Jay singing it acoustic, it happens towards the end of the "circle needs a center chapter." --Mike

I'll refrain from saying stupid West Virginia, because my offer to Wilco to play five shows at Wheeling Jesuit for the sum total of a lifetime supply of Ramen Noodles still stands on the table, and they can divide it however they wish, if they want to give Pat less that's fine with me. --Mike

Interesting to see SBS that high on the Uncut list, I remember their initial review of it being fairly lukewarm. --Mike

This is still better than anything Mike Love has ever done. --Mike

Actually, both the AP and the Coaches poll had Missouri ranked ahead of Kansas (they were seven/eight and Missouri was six to Kansas' eight in the final BCS standings) and they still took Kansas. I'm down for boycotting the BCS games this year as well, after seeing WVU go into the tank against Pitt I don't really like our chances against Oklahoma, though you never know the way this season is going. I'm pulling for either LSU or Ohio State to win the national championship game on a blown call, like Oregon/Oklahoma last year, and the Coaches Poll going one way and the AP, the other, though I'm n

Great read, I've got a lot of listening to do now. --Mike

It seems like we've been hearing this for years, but just like with the possible Neutral Milk Hotel "mythical" follow up album, I'd be ecstatic if it were true. If it sounds anything like "City Girl" from Lost in Translation or even a further expansion on Loveless, I'm sure I'll love it. --Mike

Yeah I saw that Solace mentioned it as one of his favorites and checked him out based on that recommendation, I checked him out, and I love this record. --Mike

Well until the Big 12 championship game that season OU looked invincible and I remember thinking when I was watching one of their blowout wins in November that this might be the greatest team I've ever seen. Obviously they didn't have a big time running back, they got that with Peterson the year after, but they blew almost everybody out. If it's any consolation WVU got waxed in the Gator Bowl to Maryland that year, lost to Cincinnati at home, and had Miami when they were number two on the ropes in Miami but Kellen Winslow caught a ball on his back on a fourth down play and Miami went on to kic

. At this point as a Mountaineer fan I'd be happy with either. Neither White nor Slaton have particularly set the world on fire this season, mainly because of injuries and the fact that with our schedule they were essentially pulled after three quarters in half of the games, though I have seen Pat White back in the Heisman discussion. We need a lot of teams to lose LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri to even have a shot at the title. --Mike

Thank you so much for all you do for us Jesse . Getting these turned around so quickly is a great service and while I know it's a labor of love we all really really appreciate it. --Mike

Yeah at the moment it's one of the highlights of the set in my opinion. They really have been digging into the back catalog quite a bit this year, here's hoping they keep that up and start working Why Would You Wanna Live? in even more, and Pieholden Suite please... --Mike -
This is easily the best review they've ever gotten. --Mike
