I've always felt YHF had plenty of soul particularly Jesus, etc. and I'm The Man Who Loves You. This article has an interesting premise but overall it's pretty poorly executed. --Mike

Most of us have him on ignore by this point. --Mike -
That sounds really interesting, I'll have to check that out. --Mike

Does the technique translate well to film?

Yeah Lou, hoping things are better for you soon. --Mike

Not sure if anything beyond the tour is realistically going to come out of this but adding a violin and another multi-instrumentalist to the band's sound could be interesting. During the YHF tour Jessy Greene, who also plays violin, would often join the band in their Minneapolis dates and she also plays on the version of Jesus, etc. from the Leno show in 2003. She's also on several tracks on the Down With Wilco album. --Mike

I'm hoping they bust In a Future Age back out in Pittsburgh, as well as the suit. Looks like a great show. --Mike -
I am hoping Fionn opens as well. --Mike

Strawberry Fields Forever, but The Fool On The Hill, Across The Universe, Blackbird, Here Comes The Sun, Taxman, For No One, Cry Baby Cry, Side Two Abbey Road, Every Little Thing and I've Just Seen A Face are all damn close. --Mike

Tough one, Let's Be Natural would get the nod though. Subsequently, it is because of All You Need is Cash that I became a full fledged Beatles-freak. I watched a VHS tape of it that my dad had when I was 12 and thought it was the funniest movie I'd ever seen and then made him explain all the jokes to me, and eventually then read everything about the Beatles I could get my hands on. --Mike

Very tight race between Lennon, McCartney and Harrison for me and Billy Preston came pretty damn close to getting my vote as well. I have more of McCartney's solo records and am probably more inclined to listen to Wingspan than just about any other post Beatle release. I listen to a lot of Lennon's stuff too, yet really the greatest hits CD and Plastic Ono Band are the only ones I consistently spin. Harrison did end up getting my vote because I actually listen to his full albums and I think he was a little more consistent. What I highly recommend if you have the albums and the time is takin

I'm on about listen number five now, and I'm really loving this record. It doesn't really feel too mellow to me at all, but then again I'm all about sad mid-tempo songs. --Mike

My girlfriend and I got tickets yesterday. So I'll be there --Mike

I love them. Something Else, Village Green and Arthur are all particular favorites of mine. Great, great band, one the finest of that era. --Mike

Rubber Soul to Magical Mystery Tour slightly edges out The White Album to Let it Be era for me. --Mike

This album is clicking on all cylinders for me. I almost forgot how excellent these guys were. I can see this album getting a lot of spins for quite sometime. --Mike

Kidsmoke, do I have your permission to be completely uncreative and lift this idea from you for my costume this year? I will bring along a copy of Learning How To Die with me and point to the acknowledgment section and say "I stole the idea from this woman" to any party I attend (which I usually do anyway). --Mike

I love the Wilco Book CD. I think Diamond Claw, Pure Bug Beauty, Barnyard Pimp and the Soma Hummingbird are up there with their best work. Personally it's my favorite era of the band, and I'd have loved to have seen them continue to stretch in that direction. I need to get Loose Fur on vinyl, it's one of my favorite records. --Mike

Ah, so that's what it was. I'd been wondering about the full story for awhile. In terms of Mike I know he was in the band on their September leg of that tour because he is in the 2002 Morning Becomes Eclectic video cast and that was taped early that month. I am not sure when his first official gig was, but this is something I, too, have always wondered.

I believe it was during this particular version of the song that Leroy Bach actually fell off the stage, he then returned during the famous Hesitating Leroy version of Hesitating Beauty, he might have actually fallen off during Hesitating Beauty, it's hard to tell on the boot, either way this is that show. --Mike
