"I'm always in love" was definitely better than the first time you discover a trampoline as a kid. Fun and silly, loud and easy (I think I did, but I hope I shouted that one out to my wife, because she loves watching glenn on the IATTBYH dvd). I have to apologize to the recording when I couldn't help belting out "it's for you I swoon." I think my favorite part was when we played the picking parts of pieholden suite together and it felt like we were right on top of each other. I'm guessing it didn't really sound that way, but it sure felt like it for a minute or two. When we were in b/w t

sorry, all--I'm back in the 13-14 hour/day mode and will be this whole week. If I get outta the office before 10 tonight I will try and post a real account. Suffice it to say I'm not even remotely touching the earth yet. 5 songs and 15-20 minutes of conversation with Mr. Tweedy... as great as getting to play with Jeff was, getting to meet each of you and enjoy that music in that basement with you is as great as music's ever been for me. Sincerest thanks to everyone who was around. I'll never forget it, Neil

forget the soloing talent, the "lasting" imprint of the artist and all that mess. what are your favorite guitar tones? Could be just a player, could be as specific as one tune. a few that come immediately to mind for me are: edge (might be in a league of his own) willie nelson (maybe my favorite) chris whitley (the live stuff with all those old ass nationals through a small combo amp) neil young and that crazy amp setup he has with that old little fender combo and his volume switcher jeff's light fuzz tones (amazing) J mascis (on anything) jerryberry marc ford on 2nd and 3rd BC records

true, but as someone who works in a firm that has to defend companies in employment disputes, I can say from first hand experience that it is all too often claimed as relevant when it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the situation. I'm not trying to state for a minute that racism doesn't exist or that it's no longer a problem. But I think that certain people who claim to want to fix the problem seem to perpetuate the problem for their own self-promotion, or make their entire world about race. Neither is helpful to the issue.

Absolutely (I probably should have mentioned same when making such a statement). My point is that it makes it more difficult for me to take race out of the equation. when it is constantly made an issue in situations where race is irrelevant. I probably should just stay out of the disussion I can say this: as someone who hires and fires people, race has never been a factor, and unless they are lying, no one I'm friends with or have worked with has either. And I live in a state where not 3 generations ago it was perfectly acceptable to use the "n" word without caution And to be perfectly h

apparentley denzel should have been cast as the dude with aids. I guess I live in a different world than some other people. I doubt I'd even think about race--or more importantly racism--if it weren't constantly thrown in my face by folks like the irreverands jackson and sharpton. Talk about racist. I doubt if there are two people on the earth that take notice of race more often when making decisions.

I hate to ruin your thread, but Jeff plays this song with capo on 2nd fret, making it a G-C-D-Am affair (relative to capo)

I wish someone had told me my alma mater was in this thing. I might have actually kept up.
