  1. I've learned a lot about Wilco in 2014 in the last few pages.
  2. I am impressed that you've been able to avoid suspension with such a profane avatar.
  3. It takes a special kind of arrogance to assume you know the motives of people you've never met. Unfortunately I probably do it on a daily basis. I too get annoyed by Facebook and Twitter and Instagram, but that only seems to happen when I'm not in a good place mentally or emotionally. When I'm right with myself and the world around me the most ridiculous crap on those sites (Jebus, I'm still a Via Chicago member) doesn't bother me at all. Judging and chastising people for enjoying a sense of community and posting some silly videos of themselves in furtherance (however insignificant or ta
  4. much of a guitarist's sound comes from the player, but I don't agree with the whole "tone is all in the fingers" bit. if you give a humbucker guitar through a Boss Heavy Metal pedal into a solid state amp to a player, then give that same player a strat through a mids-heavy tubescreamerish pedal through a little cranked 1x12 tweed tube amp--you're going to hear different TONES.
  5. I like the new doctor. Clara makes things happen.
  6. anyone getting tired of seeing ALS videos on facebook can stab themselves in the eyes with some toothpicks. the fact that people are taking 1 minute away from facebook/TV/internet/texts to go outside and do anything--even dumping icewater on themselves--is a cod damn miracle. the fact that it is putting ALS in lots of discussions, and putting some money towards a good cause, is outstanding.
  7. saw Boyhood last night. Messed with me pretty good. I think a lot of people won't really care for it. It was interesting to see so many familiar Texas places.
  8. I thought of this, as asked. It would make me very excited to hear the rest of the album. What a great collection of songs.
  9. thanks for doing that, linclink. I have really enjoyed the studio versions. Much more than the live ones. Some of the instrumentation and production reminds me of AGIB--very accessible. Jeff does some great guitar and bass work. Subtle and always interesting tonally. Only track I don't seem to enjoy is High as Hello. Can't wait to hear the studio version of Nobody Dies Anymore. Haven't been able to get the guitar part of that tune out of my head. this is sweet and rich collection of songs. I doubt if there will be much if any crossover to Wilco sets.
  10. I could not care less. There is no place for me in this poll. I feel so alone.
  11. the amount isn't just for the device. It's also for all the follow-ups, maintenance, adjustments or whatever. I don't really care anymore as long as it fixes the problem. It's like I've taken on a really bad coke habit but without the fun of actually doing the drugs. Or the attendant hookers and the losing all my money and pawning all my guitar equipment, etc. will they also be teaching her the perfectly viable option of creationism?
  12. here it is A poster on the gear page found it.
  13. Spent $1350 last week on a teeth-grinding contraption. Ugh.
  14. for no reason at all my wife and I woke up early yesterday morning and worked out. Great way to start a day. I've been really lazy since the July triathlon we did.
  15. I had a buffalo tenderloin at the Mural Room in Grand Teton last week that was delicious.
  16. I'm guessing it's a boost of some kind. I've asked the gurus at TGP. Will report back.
  17. I didn't get to fish while in Yellowstone. My only opportunity would have been Thursday morning, but the weather was kinda crappy. Still an amazing trip. have you watched The Honorable Woman?
  18. anyone else watching this? We watched the first 2 episodes last night. I really enjoyed it, and am eager to learn what the hell is going on.
