I loved the show. I got there at 5pm and waited for what seemed like an eternity. Was basically right in front of Jeff with one person in front of me. It was oh so worth it. There was a ton of energy in the crowd around me -- I suppose that's what you get in the first few rows. And the sheer power of this band blew me away. Again, maybe it's because I was up front, but every time they kicked into a loud jam, I thought I was going to be picked up and carried away by the force. Awesome stuff. I appreciated Jeff acknowledging that they hadn't been back in awhile and they missed NYC. Tha

People are crazy.

Panda Bear - Person Pitch Saw him on Saturday at Bowery Ballroom. Blew me away.

Wow. Really? I wish I didnt have to work tomorrow. I will probably be getting there at 530 or so.

Am I sure? I dont know how to answer that. He was being heckled by the crowd. He yelled back at the crowd. And he was up and walking away from the piano as he was hitting the last chord in Rescue Blues in the encore. He looked like he couldn't wait to get off the stage. And he walked right off and seemed pissed. On my way out, I spoke to the ushers and security at the venue and they were very surprised that the show ended when it did. They said he had been planning to play for a full hour longer. And this was the last show of a three night run. Yes, your recording sounded wonderful

Come on. Slow Hearse doesn't qualify as a song. That's more of an introduction. The Picture is the first song.

To expand on my thoughts from above: Track 1 is the catchy poppy track to get your attention. Track 2 is the deeper slower groove track to show you that we aren't all sugary or poppy (a la Dear Prudence). Track 3 is the uppercut punch that knocks you out cold. So, I vote for 3.

After what Ryan pulled the last time he was in NYC (storming off the stage for the closing night of a 3 night run at Town Hall an hour before curfew), I promised myself that I wouldn't get sucked in again. But, these new songs, his voice, this band, the reviews of the current tour from folks on here, etc. Hiro Ballroom?? It is mind-boggling to me that I have tix to Wilco at Warsaw (basically the one show any NYC fan could have asked for) and I am considering trying to get tickets to see Ryan Adams. Unf*ckingbelieveable.

This is just a bad dream. That's what this is. The smallest venue that Wilco will ever play in NYC or the smallest venue that Ryan Adams will ever play in NYC? Take your pick.

holy shit EDIT: is that the same night as wilco at warsaw???
-
EDIT: they dont make bands like the attractions anymore. Gawd.

Exactly. Sort of like The Band's career after he left. Robertson had his (well documented) issues. And I believe Levon Helm's claims that he screwed the band over on The Last Waltz, etc. But do we really need to blame him for Manual's death? (not that you did) The guy wrote some pretty amazing songs, was the creative writing force in one of the most influential bands of all time and was Bob Dylan's handpicked lead guitarist on the most batshit insane rock tour in history. I am willing to cut the guy a bit more slack. I cut Columbia no slack for this shitty compilation, though. I wat

Well, they are both GA shows and they are both sold out. So I have a feeling I will be stuck to the 5inch x 8inch space on the floor that I have reserved for myself. I will go in with an open mind. Whatever. Worse things have happened. Maybe I will love them.

I am going to Monday's and Tuesday's show. I am not familiar with Low. I will be there early for both shows. And this thread is worrying me.

Seriously. I am going to need an intravenous line soon. I cant stop listening and it keeps getting better. It needs to level off or I am afraid of the consequences.

This album gets better and better with every listen. Something's got to give here people.

Can the two of you just get a room already?

I haven't dissected the song all that much, but isn't he singing it to a woman?

Not entirely true. Bloomberg is a lifelong democrat who became a Republican 20 minutes before running for Mayor in NYC. And everyone voting in that election knew they were electing a moderate democrat who called himself a republican for political expediency. The mayoral race was set and there was an opening for a Republican. This is exactly what he is doing now. I used to agree with you. And I didnt vote for Nader in '00, but I very vocally defended friends who did. On the very same theory that you use above. Seven years into Bush-Cheney, I have changed my tune. I guess I shoul
