I have to to admit that I didnt like this tune all that much at first, but it has really clicked and I am loving it more and more. It certainly has the feel of a B side, but it's still pretty great (IMO). I am a sucker for droning acoustic guitars.

I prefer both Wilco and Son Volt to Uncle Tupelo. I like Uncle Tupelo, but I think that both Jay's and Jeff's songwriting has gown leaps and bounds since the early days. But then, I keep reading how much people hate You and I or Everlasting Everything, and I think those are two beautiful songs. I sing Everlasting Everything to my 10mo old every night before sleep. Yes, yes, spare me the Dad Rock comments.

I always got the sense that Jay had no interest in the double-edged sword that comes with doing things other than how he does them in this business. It's true that he does the interviews and the late night shows, but it always feels like he does the bare minimum, and it reeks of record company obligation. Obviously, I have no clue and I am talking out of my tail, but if I am right, good for him. We should all be so lucky to do what we want with our lives, on our terms.

I've seen Glenn in random spots in NYC a couple of times. Once, in a bagel shop near my apt (Murray's Bagels) and once walking down StMarks in the Village.

I was looking into getting a macbook for the garageband software since i hear such good things about it. The apple website and tutorials suggest that you can plug directly into the laptop. Perhaps not surprisingly, most forums that I have read on the topic say that doing so is a terrible idea and that one should/must use an audio interface, like an MBox. Can anyone weigh in with their thoughts? What does the interface accomplish?
