You know, it wouldn't surprise me if Apple had invented some technology that rigs your ipod when you sync it to play music on shuffle that subtley suggests that you buy an album. Man that would be freaky.

Yes, I know you mentioned the pediatrician, but it was to ask for a referral to a psychiatrist. I just referred to the psychiatrist to cut out the middleman. I understand what you are getting at. I really do. But I dont know enough about kids to know whether a 5 yr old is able to comprehend the ramifications of the dangrous anti-social behavior we can agree that playing with fire might represent. It could also be a kid pushing limits in a way that is dangerous enough that he can't understand. He might have wanted attention. And of course there are a million ways that a parent can de

All I said is that we don't know what happened here and that I am not willing to pass judgment if I dont know what happened. I have absolutely no interest in playing games of hypotheticals for fun. If you are willing to pass judgment, go right ahead. When your kid doodles on the wall with crayons after you've told him/her 10 times not to, hit me with a PM. I've got some experience with it and I am happy to say it doesn't have to involve psychiatrists or handcuffs.

Maybe here. Maybe not. I don't know.

Man, I have listened to this album virtually nonstop since it got released and when the ooooooooohs kick in on Terrible Love it still gets me.

You make it sound very simple to discipline and it often isn't. Plenty of kids dont listen once, twice, or ten times simply because they are pushing you and they are pushing limits. I am with caliber. We have no idea what happened here.

very convenient for bobbob to post in here when his Marlins sweep my Mets and yet be silent when his star player gets benched for being a general tool and then runs his mouth like an ass. Bobbob, I demand a post from you on this!

I've got doubts too. And if it's $25, that just makes it even harder. I hate to be so cynical, and I know that Ryan loves metal, but this feels like a bit of a spoof. I dont want to pay $25 for a spoof. I guess I can just try to pick up a copy after some of the tracks leak and I can decide if I like it.

oh, and: Blue Sky Blues and Carolina Rain/Ryan Adams.

I Taught Myself How to Grow Old - Ryan Adams (and there was poison in the rain) Sky Blue Sky - Wilco (windows open and raining in)

I will definitely download this when I get home. Thanks hardwood. Really appreciate it.

Amen Aman.

If you think about it, we could reduce the crime rate to zero if we made all crimes legal!

I guess I should have known that this is where the discussion would go after my comment. But I just find it alot more funny that bands without any sense of grit or dirt, like Keith Urban or Green Day, would cover the Stones. As opposed to someone who's as badass as Taj is.

Not sure I get the point that AMan and Lammy are making about Taj doing a white guy's take on the blues. The blues are the blues. As everyone in this thread agrees, the Stones did them well. Or, at the last, their own gritty/dirty/sexy way. I'm really not looking to turn this into a larger discussion about race and music. Just seems like an odd point and/or observation to make. The song is great. That's why Taj did a cover of it.

thanks Moss. That was great.

When you are at a concert patiently waiting for the main act and the lights go down. That very instant.

I love the album. I really do. But this part doesn't work for me. Just seems a bit too much. Maybe it's too direct? I dont know. I can't explain it. Doing my darndest to get tix for Sat night in Brooklyn. Sold out and I can bring myself to pay a scalper.

Well, I successfully waited for the proper release and stayed away from this thread for awhile. And, wow. I am on my 3rd listen and this album is following my usual path to a favorite. I was lukewarm on the first listen, but then things started opening up and making sense on the second listen. And then, we achieved takeoff on the third. Also, I see what people mean about the production on the first track. I am going to sit with this for a lot longer before I make a judgment. Man, it's so nice when something in life actually meets your ridiculous expectations.

Just watched. I thought Taj was great and that Green Day was awful. Taj has emotion, subtlety, space, and makes the song his own. Green Day doesn't and didn't. Diff'rent strokes, I guess.

Stop by Ryan Adams. I dont care if I am the only one who likes that song.

I happen to agree that it's unfair to blame the folks walking by because we have no way to know who called and who didnt, and what they saw or didnt see. And lord knows, I've stepped over what feels like 100 drunk folks in the street or subways. But in kcilf's defense, this wouldn't have happened if the dude was wearing a suit and tie. At least, I don't think it would have happened.

I love one of his more recent albums: Your Country. Parker is great.
