  1. Uncool2pillow, not aimed at anyone in particular just pointing out that there are things other countries do that may work for them but will not go over here. My "owning" comment was meant as a compliment to Hixter for addressing all of the people who ask him questions. Hahaha The ones that bug me the most start off with, "so what your saying is...." when in fact they know it's not at all what he's saying. As far as registering guns, I think the registering leads to confiscation is a probable scenario. No?
  2. Basically Hixter is owning you guys. Rocket launchers, burglars that won't hurt you as long as you just give them what you want, dreaming of the United States ever being like a small European country.... Geez. If nothing else I am enjoying the show.
  3. Hixter, I think Billy Joel said it best.... "Don't go changin'....." sorry I have a horrible voice. Man, as far as an intruder breaking into my home, I'd shoot him and I'm completely in the right in Texas....I think.
  4. I hope neither one of us have anything to worry about.
  5. "I know people like to hunt but I say fuck 'em" Really? Guns are here to stay. I know there are people who don't like guns but I say.... Sorry I've never really bought into the whole belief that one day we'd have to fight the government to keep our guns but to see people speaking of repealing the 2nd Amendment I can see a possibility of some sort of bloody revolution. Gun owners tend to be proud people with a deep herritage of using guns for sport, hunting and recreation. There are generation after generation of families who cherish the unique right we as Americans have to own and operate gu
  6. Levon's autobiography is a must read for any Band fan. So interesting!
  7. Well MrRain it is good to see you around again. I don't think I ever said it needed to be privatized but it damn sure needs to do some changing. I asked why it would be bad? I've had both UPS and Fed Ex screw up and cost me money but they have impressed me more times than USPS. That's my experience and that's what I'm sharing. I personally believe it tends to be somewhat inefficient and sloppy.
  8. What the hell is wrong with you KevinG? Because I said it would cost more I'm not being nice? Gimme a break. They are losing money and I don't care if you live in NYC or on a secluded ranch in Montana, they better start charging more. If I need to ship something I always go UPS or Fed Ex. 2 well ran private shipping companies. They are dependable and the USPS is not! Just last week a friend tried to mail me my iPad charger through the post office. They weighed it charged her the postage and a week later it came back to her due to a lack of proper postage!! She only lives 5 hours from me. Can
  9. I'm very aware of what the USPS does. They would not charge the same fore Bumfuck Iowa as the do to a city. It's unfortunate but that agency or entity or whatever it's official status is has been circling the drain for some time now. I absolutely agree..... Except for the Margera thing
  10. I just read where the USPS is supposed to be revenue neutral..... I think I've figured out their problem.
  11. At what point will the USPS have to say "we quit."? It's sad.
  12. Damn.....That is very cool. Deserving of its own thread!
  13. Damn! We need a, "what's bad about January" thread. I just got a glimpse of what the new tax plan has in store. I'm thinking I'll back off a little bit and not strive to make as much. Shit!
  14. Elton John "11-17-70" (small venue; radio station I think) String Cheese Incident "Carnival 99" I take jam bands about like I take antibiotics (other than the Grateful Dead but that's another thread) but when I need a good dose this band is delightfully fulfilling.
  15. Once after a show in Denton Texas I witnessed John kick some ass on a pool table while Pat danced like James Brown with the two hottest chicks in the club at the same time. After the bar closed I witnessed Pat walking down the street with both girls under each arm....I wouldn't trust my wife of 13 years to be around Pat alone. Hahaha
  16. I've always thought not only would I love to hear them do something from The Bands first 2 albums but I believe they could fucking nail it!! Maybe Rag Momma Rag or King Harvest or hell Chest Fever?! Hahaha bring it on!!
  17. How interesting Donna. I live in Amarillo and it's funny, growing up here helium was once a major economical force in this area. When I was a child there was a lot of chatter (remember I was a kid) about helium and how important it was to this areas economy. Moving forward some years, it seems helium is an afterthought and I don't hear About it much. I did not know all of the different uses it has and I'm completely taken by surprise that it can not be artificially created. I hate to think of any resource becoming depleted. I would like to know if there is research being conducted to try and c
  18. Just read this story. Very cool.
  19. Sweet. I can't wait to check this out! Thanks
  20. I think Kimmel has some of the best writers in late night tv. So damn funny! I try to watch his monologue every night.
  21. Global warming is such a heavily debated topic. You can almost find any scientist to support what you want to believe. Are we having an effect on the earth? Sure we are. At what rate and how much it can stand and what tech advances may slow down the human effect on the globe is sure to change over time. As far a species going extinct I find it amazing that we currently find thousands of new species every year (at least what I've read) but I'm not sure to the more "enlightened" that's any source of hope. Along with the ability for the human race to understand and do something about other specie
  22. Ooooh yeah, she only had like 3 months to get the act together.
