Well if you put it on airplane mode it shuts off everything extra and you should get close to the iPhone's advertised music playback: 24 hours. If you want to be sure to get maximum video/music playback on an airplane, you can also consider turning of the Equalizer (EQ), which will actually end up sucking a good amount of power over time if you are listening to tunes.

The 2.1 update is out and has lots of fixes, including battery life improvement and less dropped calls, better reception, etc. Also, if you guys have not downloaded the free application "Shazam", I really recommend it....It's the coolest thing ever. Basically if you are listening to the radio or are at somewhere where music is being played and you don't know the song, you turn on this application and have it listen for 10 seconds and then it thinks about it for another 10 seconds and tells you what the song is. It only works for recorded music, but its still mind bogglingly cool.

Does it really matter who's in the BCS title game "talk"? The only thing that matters is the last BSC standings. USC hasn't been to a BCS title game it didn't deserve to be at yet. Sure, they've been in consideration towards the end of the season for the past couple of years after losses to mediocre teams, only because they've been a pretty dominant force in recent history...but they've only actually gone to the title game in their undefeated seasons.

I have to switch on and off shit depending on where I am, to maximize battery life. i.e. I turn off Wifi if I'm not around a wireless network, I turn off 3G if all I'm doing is taking phone calls, and I turn off GPS if i don't need it. If you turn off Wifi and 3G and just use it as a phone, the battery life is significantly better. Also there is an iPhone update (2.1) coming out on Friday that will (reportedly) improve battery life.

I love my iPhone. For example...Last night, when I was waiting for some babies at the hospital, I had my iPhone set up a picture gallery web page that updated with new pictures I took from the iPhone. So my siblings/relatives got to see the new family members within minutes of them being brought into the waiting room. Also the browser is awesome.
