I like the disc. I wish all discs were produced this way - you can stack way more (less space) and the fact that they use less crap is great. I'm not much of a hippie, but I like that people are taking up using green alternatives.

On a related note, has anyone downloaded Jay's most recent album? It's available for free (seriously, it's the way it's being distributed) here : http://rockproper.com/ I'm 3 tracks in (not sure what took me so long to get around to it) and it's easily his best solo work. His best post-Wilco work is still The Palace At 4 A.M., but this is damn good.

when you insert the DVD - open up "My Computer" and right click on the DVD drive to get to the sub section "Extras" ... double click on "Extras" and it should bring you to the page to DL the items.

you access it through the DVD of Ashes.

I know that Jay will really appreciate hearing these kind words. I'll make sure to pass them on to him or make sure that he visits here to read them. Nothing new to report - still a few days before he and I start hashing things out, but hopefully the base of the house will be in place come Friday.

Were people pre-ordering and receiving them or buying them a local independent record store or at the gigs? that said, even if people were getting them from Wilco World it's not a huge company I'm sure and you'll still no doubt get it before the general public does on April 28th.

"National Tragedy Museum" wow! I'd go there.

I suppose I was being a bit harsh, but I was talking about the place in general. I did find the punk rock exhibit fascinating. But I don't know how much I like the idea of a rock museum, either.

I liked "You Never Know"...only listened to it once, but I dig it.

The R&R HOF is one of the biggest wastes I've ever seen. That opinion has nothing to do with their lack of Wilco, merch however (the DVD isn't on sale to the general public until the 28th, btw). It's just a big stinker of a museum.

Like I said elsewhere, I could watch a 6 hour documentary of just interviews with these guys. I loved what Brendan and Christoph did with the film. It's a concert film - it's what it was always supposed to be. The interviews came out organically from what I understand and fit the narrative of a band on tour. I'm not sure what the critique is here... But I would also welcome another Sam Jones style documentary on these guys, too. But I don't know if something like that will every happen again.
